Hot take: There's nobody left at Sega who knows how to make Sonic work in 2D.
Hotter take: Nobody at SEGA, especially at higher positions, have any brains. And this isn't just regarding nu-SEGA, they were ALWAYS braindead.
  • Sonic 2, while being a good game in it's own right, had a FUCK-TON of content cut due to time restraints and SEGA not knowing wtf the word "delay" means, resulting in the beta being more chunky than the final, including the famous "Hidden Palace" zone that got added into the mobile version of Sonic 2 (which STILL hasn't been re-released outside of phones)
  • Treating Knuckles Chaotix as an afterthought even though it was literally the only sonic related title for the 32X... the same system that SEGA made in a panic because they got wind of the Atari Jaguar and actually considered it a threat.
  • SEGA treating their american branch like a piece of shit with the whole Sonic Xtreme fiasco. Yuji Naka partially to blame for having a temper tantrum when he found out they had acquired his engine he made for NiGHTS Into Dreams.
  • Sonic Adventure getting completely butchered on PC and other consoles due to technical shit that the Dreamcast could do but nothing else could replicate, so they just stuck a band-aid over the whole thing and called it a day.
  • Sonic 06... 'nuff said.
I could go on, but you get the point.

The movie with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall?

Sega would have been better off not making consoles at all. Pretty much every division besides their arcade cabinets lost money.

So, exactly how stubborn can the fangame creators get?

Because I found someone who was shilling his project, the community refused to touched it and pointed out that OP is technically commiting copyright infringement. He got angry because it'll be free and kept asking how to code shit. Several months later, he's still at it; but as far as I know, nothing really happened to him.

In the best timeline where Chriscest didn't happen we'd be getting to hear from him about it.

Dammit, fungus girl.
Not even sure he would tbh, he didn't say anything about Sonic Central, I expected him to say at least one funny weird thing about Sonic Prime but he never did.

The two things he's known for (Sonic and Pokemon) he barely even brought up as the years went on and just kept going on about ponies.

Even Chris knew when to abandon a sinking ship.

There's a great quote from LBJ: "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America!" Checkmate, Sega.
I'm still not even sure what it was about Sonic Chris even liked. I mean, we know he played Pokemon games, the card game, etc. But Sonic? Out of all the documentaries and vids I've watched, Chris doesn't seem to be that big of a Sonic fan, yet he's far more associated with Sonic than Pokemon despite Sonichu having far more Pokemon references and Chris being tied more closely to Pokemon than Sonic.

It's because Sonic is one of many autism magnets and that's really all to it.

Sonic is a trash fire and Frontiers (the 2022 game) will probably be a mediocre mess like always.

But even still, going from Sonic to MLP isn't a improvement, say what you want about Sonic but at least it's target audience isn't little girls lol.

Probably because he won a Sonic contest as a kid and got very brief television time which helped boost his ego.

He probably associated Sonic with fame and fortune so he invented Sonichu so he could become famous again and get pussy.

And it certainly did make him famous. But not in a good way.

As for the pussy part, well... we all know how that turned out.

Sega brings yet another shitty collaboration in their attempts to make Sonic a multimedia franchise instead of a games franchise

And, of course, as per the usual with Sonic. Fans somehow whip together something better in little time at all.

Wow, being a fan of this franchise sure is great I really love what Sega is doing we still have no games until 2022 I can't wait for origins to do some dumb shit like remove lives without an option to enable them again just like colors ultimate. I can't wait for the ubisoft towers in Frontiers.

40 years on, and they haven't learned a goddamned thing. TikTok! That's the ticket, baby!8)

To be fair, lives are an outdated concept for video games nowadays. I doubt the game would suffer with their exclusion.
