EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE POST: Mildly untied to the games but I've been thinking of getting some of the lego sanic sets. The only one I have right now is the death egg robot I got on clearance after christmas, and it's like the main set I wanted fromt he getgo due to how accurate it was to beign a kind of combo of the sonic 2 and generations designs ran through a lego-ish filter. Theo thers aside from the green hill ideas set seem kind of off in several areas and it gets weirder with the 2025 wave.

Already covered the biolizard thing with the odd color stuff but The cyclone and some other sets unironically look like something someone would make as a MOC from spare bin parts instead of an official set. Some REALLY odd choices like making the front entirely yellow instead of gray with a yellow stripe behind it. Another oddity I noticed is that they seem to be using the sonic the fighters logo for tails on literally anything related to him but don't do the same for other characters. I'd say it's because it fits on a 2x2 tile, but it's even on the cyclone set which even though it's printed on a 2x2 piece, it's a square one not a round one.

Biggest gripe is despite it's size they didn't give it the right joints to properly fold up into the plane form.
Like yeah sure the panels can't fold in and around like THIS...

...but you could easily cheat it with how large the lego wing parts can be instead of calling the thing sitting down the plane mode. Aside from that it's really nice looking, just not "official 2010s onward lego set design" visuals here. They've DONE mechs that turn into planes before they should easily be capable of doing a little bit better.

Also if they wanted to take the easy route they should have made it CAR MODE as the transformation where it's just curled up with wheels folded out.

I think I might've said this earlier int he thread a few years back, but as a kid I thought the cyclone was just the mech mode of the tornado 2... But then at some point I noticed there's shit all over it in-game that says tornado III. I weirdly don't remember it being called cyclone in the game either, just tornado... I might be misremembering that though It's been a while since I played SA2.

The raid on the ark that killed everyone he loved was 50 years before the events of SA2. Both Shadow and the Eclipse cannon were government funded operations. They decided shit might be too dangerous in the wrong hands and decided to KILL FUCKING EVERYONE ABOARD AND MASK IT AS A LAB ACCIDENT. Everyone he knew but his creator, gerald (and some unnamed researchers possibly I dunno) Fucking died. Maria included, who sacrifices herself to help shadow escape. THIS DOES NOT WORK. They find him at some point offscreen between the flashback and the current day and cryo-freeze his ass in a maximum security military base.

They took gerald into custody and made him keep building weapons for them and shit before icing him. During this time he got kind of insane from the combo of isolation and knowing everyone he ever loved or cared about was dead and that when the government was done with him he would be too. One of his final actions is installing a kind of "dead man's switch" in the eclipse cannon that if it's fully charged with all 7 emeralds instead of letting it be used properly as intended, overrides the colony's stable orbit and sends it on a direct collision course with earth. Also funny enough, Shadows existence was so covered up by the government post raid that the only evidence he existed is the files for an earlier attempt. An extremely violent and retarded gene spliced salamander that requires a life support machine to not die. Guess what gerald set up as part of the ways to make sure his dead mans switch trap thing couldn't be undone assuring the death of everyone on earth? yeah, Shadow. Not Shadow the hedgehog but Shadow the Salamander. The BIOLIZARD, NIGGA.

Speaking of shit tied to the ARK and shadow, it genuinely bugs me that people when shadow gnerations came out went "THE MOST INSANE FAN THEORY CONFIRMED CANON?!?!?!" Over gerald basing shadow and other shit off ancient echidna angel island stuff because if you fucking played SA2 all the way through and played either sonic and knuckles or SA1 you would 100% know whats up once the final section of the final stage shows up.

It would be less BS if the same gaming trivia guys that did that didn't also point this other well known little music thing from the final stage of SA2 out.

its just a ridiculous idea because shadow doesnt "have two fathers" in any respect. he has a creator, and he has the guy who he is made from. none of those are father figures because it's ridiculous sci fi bullshit. gerald and black doom arent going to an adoption agency and taking shadow around in a stroller, and gay couples dont have one of them be from space and be pure evil while the other builds a giant cannon because his granddaughter died before he was shot by a firing squad

The cannon was built before that. Also The game black doom showed up in as the antagonist, the cannon's kind of retconned into a "this was originally meant to shoot black dooms fucking comet if he tries invading earth" which it is then used for.

I personally like to think that his memories weren't tampered with and it was entirely on him. The scene where his memory is called into question is the scene where the paper on project shadow is about the biolizard and not him.

I already pointed this out before earlier in the thread but the gripes about people not getting SA2 to a weird amount these days is odd. I can get maybe someone who never paid attention tot he story or never played the game but the "mix up" being a blatant coverup of shadows existence without being outright said somehow gets misconstrued as "UHHH WHY DO THEY THINK HE LOOKS LIKE SONIC" also neglecting the fact LITERALLY A NEAR COLOR SWAP OF SUPER SONIC FROM SA1.
