Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. in 1993.

this was the first time for Jaleel White to voice sonic. which is one of his most famous roles to this day. prior to voicing sonic, he played steve urkel in the sitcom Family Matters.

Tails is voiced by the Christopher Stephen Welch.

Dr. Robotnik is voiced by the late Long John Baldry

Scratch is voiced by Phil Hayes.

Grounder is voiced by Garry Chalk. he later voiced robotnik in sonic underground. he also has a surprise cameo in the sonic's 2020 movie as one of the senators.\

and Coconuts is voiced by Ian James Corlett. he is famous for voicing Goku in Ocean's english dub of dragon ball z.

the cartoon also had sonic sez shorts at the end of each episode. where they tell kids some friendly and soft topics like reading, healthy diets, sharing, brushing your teeth, taking care of pets, wearing your seat belt, car safety, and calling 911.

but sonic sez also tackled serious topics. stuff like sexual harassment, respecting the law and courts, alcohol, gun safety, vandalism, peer pressure, false advertising, gangs, and smoking.
AoSTH was the perfect YTP source during the mid-to-late 2000s

A new Superstars video came out today.

Fang's name has officially been censored/changed from Fang the Sniper to Fang the Hunter.
While escorting Dr. Eggman and his hapless new helper Trip through a perilous ruin, Fang the Hunter will need to muster all his cunning to overcome past mistakes and escape the coils of a fierce new enemy. Meanwhile, Eggman discovers what may be the key to his next dastardly scheme.

On one hand, it's kind of gay. But on the other hand, his signature weapon was an handgun
True, but I can’t imagine a reason other than “we don’t want to reference guns”.
Considering his name was censored once before to Nack The Weasle, I'm not really bothered by it.
Oh, is that why the other name exists? I always thought it was a localization change or something.

I double checked out of curiosity, Nack was actually supposed to be the PERMANENT name, but they changed it in Japan because in their language the pronounciation of Nack and Knuckles would have been too similar, so I guess this is a rare case of japan making localization changes of their own, so it's not really a censorship issue... my bad

he was also supposed to have his gun in Triple Trouble, but they removed it before the final release, so they gave it to him in Fighters instead, so the "Sniper" tag didn't really come into play until two years after triple trouble

I'm probably just autistic for Sonic, but is it just me or is that a cooler image than it has any right to be?

These changes are enough to make me finally finish the game.

I don't hold out much hope that I'll really like it but some of the changes to movement and the spin dash being unlockable and broken at least look like they may be fun to mess around with for a little while.

Hmm interesting gameplay. I still don't think a video of the first zone is invocative of the game being bad. The first zones of most sonic games are usually pretty simple and thus pretty basic for the most part. But, i will concede that I think the level design could be more interesting overall.

Doesnt it have 4 players multiplayer? I assume thats the reason the level design is simpler and the speed is reduced
That makes sense, but actually makes it sound like multiplayer is a bad idea if that's a concession they need to make... Then again, Sonic is often pretty bad at keeping stages speedy anyway, multiplayer or not.

The only thing that will amuse players is the stupid gimmicks they'll implement, such as he character custom generator in Sonic Forces

How? Sonic 2 is the de-facto game people go to when people crave speed in the classic games (thanks in large part to Sega's marketing). Outside of that, there's also the "boost-to-win" games starting with Rush.

There's plenty of games that focuses on speed as being a core-factor, but the classic games were always first and foremost about good platforming. Mania understood this, which is why that game is considered a love letter by many. It has the fundamentals with speed being the toppings to the ice creame. This game looks like it's no different.

Off the top of my head, Sonic 1, Sonic Advance, and most of the SMS entries had plenty of stages where they don't focus much on speed. I'm playing through Sonic Adventure (never got far as a kid, didn't own it) and I'm surprised how slow a lot of segments are, like the ice area (you only go fast once you snowboard, the stage was still really fun).

Yeah, for one reason or another it felt like they were testing the waters to see what they could get away with in terms of level design whenever a new console comes out. In fact, there's an huge difference between the two Adventure games, come to think of it.

But it doesn't actually explains why Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog were an little bit on the slow side

I'm sure this game though, Will reward players for finding shortcuts through the platforming segements to gain more speed. Akin to how Sonic CD rewards you for figuring out its level design with more opportunities to go fast.
