Thought the Sonic trailer was great? Obviously you're re.tarded which makes since because all Sonic fans are re.tarded. The only great thing about that trailer was that it ended.

The Mario games are and always have been the better platformer, and the fanbase is less autistic for the most part. Sonic is a garbage character.

You have stockholm syndrome with this franchise if you think that the movie trailer was great and you think Sonic Boom wasn't "that bad". Sonic is a dead franchise that is merely a reanimated corpse so SEGA can pretend to be relevant. Beyond Mania, which is basically a fan game due to how it was developed, Sonic hasn't had an even remotely good game in almost 8 years and the games it has gotten since then are between bad and insultingly bad.
 
I could honest-to-god write a thesis on the state of Sonic as a whole and I'd probably get paid to put the damn thing as some super-exclusive article. Or maybe IGN will pay me the bigbux so they can silence it and bury all of the positives. I love Sonic, and the wasted potential it represents. It just hurts to see it fall so far below what could have been, from both uncaring sega execs to the abysmally exceptional battalion of fans that can't ever agree on one thing.

Now shuddup and gimme my autistic ratings already.

I'm sorry you have such shit tier taste in games/characters, but no one is trying to bury all of Sonic's positives. There just aren't any worth mentioning. He was a mediocre one dimensional mascot (gotta go fast to the chili dogs!) trying to compete with Mario. Mario was also one deminsional but at least had some charm. The early Sonic games were fun but nothing to write home about, and the modern games are the equivalent of electronic feces.

I get liking the games and even being a fan of the character due to nostalgia, but this level of devotion to a cartoon hedgehog is ridiculous. I'm genuinely curious what about this character is so appealing? I mean it's a dying franchise for a reason.

I'm honestly curious why you think Mario has Charm but Sonic doesn't.

At risk of sounding like the Charles Barkley Gas Pump, Gotta Go Fast Chili Dogs were all western additions. Satam, Aosth, and by extension, Underground, were all produced by DiC. Sonic X was under the 4kids dub after TMS Entertainment. Gotta Go Fast didn't exist until 4kids got their mitts on him. Chili Dogs were the result of TMNT booming in popularity by extension of cartoon heroes needing a favorite food as was popular at the time.

Most, if not all, of Sonic's most popular characterizations were also credited toward Shiro Maekawa, who was responsible for Adventure 2, all the way to The Black Knight. His character didn't really start suffering until Colors, where the happy tree friends writers, Pontac and Graff, got their current writing and translation gig due to nepotism from a higher up in Sega of America, who, have gone on record saying they don't know anything about him, or why people like him.

I never said that any specific Mario game was better than any specific Sonic game because those are subjective opinions. I personally don't like any platforming games. What is fact is that Mario's franchise is going strong and Sonic's has been basically dead for 20 years except for autistic faggots. Edit: @Super Color Up I forgot to answer your question. Mario has charm because the character has never tried to be taken seriously. He's a fun goofy character. If Sonic would have stayed a fun goofy mascot he would still have some charm. Instead they tried to do serious stories with him and it came off as re.tarded because he's a derpy looking hedgehog.
