Sega's social media team doesn't give a fuck, but the developers might be a little bit more conservative. That said, I'd still be surprised if there weren't "close enough" body parts to make a Sonichu-esuqe character. I'd imagine features that look too closely to Pikachu would be potential trademark infringements.
 
Why do I have the feeling this is gonna be considered the best Sonic game ever made - even when it looks like nothing special (let alone groundbreaking - a little too late for that to be a thing with this particular franchise, honestly.), even with this addition of custom characterization Sega is banking on? Unless the gameplay doesn't make you break a controller over it, I see nothing worth getting excited about that plenty of games by now have employed, likely far better than this, too.

At least DeviantArt/FurAffinity/Inkbunny,etc. will be happy. Can't say Chris will be, knowing he likely can't make something like Sonichu in this game (a small mercy there...).

Finally have a use for this.

And even then I think it's an understatement. I do believe we're witnessing the single edgiest character in any single piece of media that, as far as I myself am concerned, has ever existed.
