Jeffo has been very good about his online OPSEC so far, so I don't even think anyone outside of the Admin innercircle even knows his Powerword; and even then, he might have known better than to trust a bunch of pedophile trannies. I don't think anyone even cares enough to try to Panama Papers his holding company.

Since most of the behaviors of the kiddie kiddlers on SA comes from putting their real name into an offender database or looking for posts with their handle, Jeff could be free after serving a sentence for aggravated beastiality and we wouldn't know.

That was truly glorious.

My favorite goon out of that pack was Sundae, an engineer who had a cushy six figure job at Johnson & Johnson. He would get irrationally angry whenever they asked him to do any work instead of just farting around online. He tried to find a job that would give him a big salary while having no responsibility. He’d complain constantly when the jobs had responsibilities or if they were cushy do-nothing jobs, didn’t pay as well as he wanted.

He published goon erotica and hoped to quit his job and be a goon erotica author full time until Amazon changed their compensating metrics on Kindle Unlimited. At the time I remember goon erotica authors claiming this new change cut into revenue by 90%.

The only goon who won at this was moana aka Moana Evans. She made over a million dollars off of it (and posted proof) and decided to raise her kids while working part time.
 
Actually both of them were still active on the forums recently.

Sundae took over moderating BFC from the last guy who apparently just disappeared (or maybe there was some drama there, I don't know). He then started managing a vtuber, although it would not surprise me at all if he WAS the vtuber, just using a voice changer.


In early August he took a voluntary ban from SA, oddly enough at the same time the vtuber stopped streaming. Hmm.

Speaking of Moana, she's the one who re-inherited the BFC mod position, and is now a financial advisor.

Man, that was a gold-rush of a grift at the time. Not going to lie - I have a dozen or so terrible books floating around out there, that for two years were adding $4000 a month to my income. It was ridiculous to watch, especially considering how little effort you could get away with.

Anyone who genuinely considered quitting their job to do that... that's just delusional. People started lying to themselves that they were "running a business" instead of it just taking advantage of a brief window of opportunity to sell crap e-books on Amazon whilst getting a good percentage from it. Kinda hilarious to think people ruined their lives over it.

I published a really half assed book that made a few hundred bucks. Didn’t even bother with a half naked dude on there either. Decided it wasn’t worth the career reputation risk at the time since I knew it wasn’t going to last. But yeah, it was maybe $700 for a couple hours worth of work. Moana was the kween of goon erotica, making something like $25k a month at it. I should have went full bore into it in hindsight.

Amazon has a service called Kindle Unlimited where for a monthly fee, you could read as many books as you want that’s within that program. Authors in this program got paid a certain amount if a Kindle Unlimited user downloaded the book.

There are a lot of bored housewives out who read erotica and with this program, they could download as much as they want without owning the books. Since authors got paid by the download, this meant authors could publish a pamphlet-sized book and get paid the same as someone who wrote a 200 page novel. As a result, lots of shitty erotica got published and authors made shitloads of cash. The goal was getting eyes on the book so usually you needed something like a half naked guy on the cover (full nudity would get your book rejected iirc) and either some 50 Shades kind of description. That gay Chuck Tingle meme originated from this flood of goon erotica.

Amazon got wise to the hustle and sometime in 2016 I believe started compensating by pages read than just accessing the book. Since most goon erotica was shit, those bored housewives would quit a couple pages in, giving authors just pennies on the dollar they used to get. Some goon erotica writers found ways to game the new system but it just wasn’t the same. So most quit although some made a shitload of cash during this 3-4 year period.

It's also worth pointing out that if Amazon didn't exclude most erotic fiction from their bestseller lists, that's almost all it would be. It's apparently the biggest selling genre of fiction, and the Kindle just accelerated that.

That thread on SA was interesting - there were a handful of users there who knew what the formula was. Write crap, churn out volume, ignore the bad feedback, and you'll still make more money than some idiot who spent weeks refining some book that was always going to be garbage by definition. Some worked out that the bare minimum word count you could get away with was 3000 - so you'd write to that wordcount, leave it on a "cliffhanger" and publish it almost immediately (usually without even bothering to proof read it). If it sold well, you wrote part two - which would then cause another spike in sales of the first, and anything similar you'd written. Shit would snowball quickly, and if you were smart, you basically almost always saw an upward trajectory of sales.

It was a numbers game. But so many SA users thought they were becoming authors about to get discovered, which was seriously fucking delusional.

Considering where that site is now, I'm not wildly surprised though.
