These people don't read Das Kapital, though, which almost nobody does. Unless you're really specifically going to be into philosophy of history or get a degree in the subject, or economic theory in general, there probably isn't much point in reading it in its entirety anyway. It is dull and academic and mired in theory and what's worse, most of it is out of date and has been supplanted by reality. The same can be said of the Austrian school but it's at least somewhat closer to modern reality.

These people read, at most, the Communist Manifesto, which doesn't present a full philosophy, it's basically a sales pamphlet for the larger philosophy and meant to convince people of its own correctness, but not academics. It's meant to instill revolutionary concepts in the rank and file type people who go out and do shit.

Feed a bunch of useless fucking troons this and they'll just sit on their asses doing nothing and never even read the main philosophical works anyway, not even Gramsci or the more accessible radicals. They'll just sit around and bitch and demand free shit and shit themselves.

Every political ideology is great in theory, the test is when it gets into the hands of actual human beings, in which case almost all of them end up being flawed and shitty. You can’t just talk about how “real Communism hasn’t been tried” because it has and humans fucked it up and they would fuck up any future attempt too because almost every political theory is based on some idealized version of humanity that doesn’t exist.

I think it's worth pointing out that Marxism even in theory would be an awful political system, and most early Marxists and adjacent theorists understood that and debated Marx about it. Bakunin famously had a series of strikingly prescient critiques of Marx from a left-wing perspective, where he soundly criticized the idea of a dictatorship of the proletariat and the materialistic utilitarianism of Marx. Both, he felt, would lead to a tiny clique of technocrats treating all of humanity like insects in a hive or replaceable cogs in a machine, cheapening the value of human life and leading to unlimited one-party totalitarianism in the name of ideological purity.

That's exactly what happened.

Besides, there is a difference. OWS was against banks and corporations, while these losers are happy to be the pawns of corporate America. May not be a practical difference, but it is at least a moral one. OWS had a legitimate point, while these guys only have petty grievances.

Karl Marx was incidentally ethnically a Jew but personally a fedora tipping atheist. His anti-Semitism was purely religious and he despised religious (or any other) identities that distracted from class struggle.

Marx was occasionally based (also Jewish ethnically), he even refers at some point in there about the Jews being chimerical, literally talking about shapeshifting in the 1800s.
