I went and dug that up, filtered the thread on only the Drunk Nerds posts. Almost every idea submitted was a shitpost, though the guy suggesting a Digg button was pretty awesome.

I would advise you make a habit of screenshotting posts, both so we don't have to click over to SA to see what you're talking about and to prevent goons from trying to cover up their shit. A lot of goons read this thread obsessively and panic over being talked about, to the point that they've edited out posts, hidden threads, and hidden entire subforums in order to stop us from posting and laughing at screenshots of them being idiots.

My favorite tool for taking screencaps is Firefox's take-a-screenshot feature. If a post doesn't have to be scrolled to be captured in full, you can just printscreen and take the portion of the screen that you want. Either way, the forums code here lets you paste screenshots right into your post as attachments, so they'll be preserved forever. Just make sure your screencaps don't include anything that could give your forum account away, like yellow quote boxes (if that option is turned on in the user control panel) or Edit buttons under your posts.

You know, that's an aspect of the decline of SA I'd not really thought of before, but now that I have it makes a lot of sense.

Namely, the workshy sadbrain basement dwelling faggots continue to live in their basements, making 500 posts a day, trooning out, for at this point literal decades, and they continue to accumulate because not enough of them follow the instructions correctly when making their exit bags.

Any goon who is not completely fucked in the head will graduate, get a job, get into a relationship and have less time for making posts, and probably is barely on there after 10 years, and often mostly just lurking. And as things take a turn for the faggot, probably just leave for facebook and never come back.

I edited that out thinking no one would care but most of the funny early goons bailed a decade or more ago and built their lives and careers, it’s the drecks and wrecks that have stayed around.

The SA forums were a great and brutal place to sharpen your writing skills Fifteen years ago. Now it’s a dull hug box of sensitivity, sad brains and leftist political thought only. The remaining old goons are a very sad lot indeed.
