When I see "lfm deadmines" in LFG, I collapse and sob over the fact WoW has been teaching children to be murderously anti-labor since 2005

Instead of being laughed off the forum, mods banned anyone who questioned her. (she was later banned herself for claiming a dragon was transgendered, proving once again that faggots are above white women in the progressive stack)
Now I'm incredibly curious about this dragon bullshit. I've read some of their WoW forum dribble before and it can very, very, very swiftly move into bullshit territory. Lots of users entrenched around one opinion screaming at the others while trying to imply their take is problematic.

A trans dragon though, that's a fresh plop of shit. Have any shots of that?

The WoW subforum is sadly paywalled, but here's the jist of it:

And, of course, the actual poster has/had a blog where she accused everybody of homophobia and racism:

It's a good time to remind everyone that the WoW subforum chose a (by their own posts admitting) suicidal, trans, mentally ill person to lead their "official" guild in BFA, then made it such an extreme exclusionary "LGBTQIA+ safe space" that they banned goons for being straight

And also banned hardcore PVPers for "having the tendency to engage in non-consentual interactions" with people

I enjoyed playing rust along time ago, the game where you d murder someone with a rock to take their pants.

this is such a bullshit thing why even play games

Apple Cider was a prissy little cunt. The second she got backed into a corner on anything she'd scream that she'd been triggered, or that you were making light of her abuse.

Kind of surprised she hasn't slunk back in with Reene.

I tried reading this paragraph and while I'm pretty good at parsing leftist nonsense halfway through I just began hearing incoherent monkey shrieking in my head and had to stop
It's an interesting specimen to dissect, for sure. Lots of diseased entrails all tangled up together.

One thing I noticed awhile back when reading threads in D&D is that goons know full well that the people they call Nazis are not, in any sense of the word, Nazis. There's an old post I've been trying to find from one thread where somebody (who was later branded a bad-faith concern troll, probated on sight, etc) was asking what definition of "Nazi" was being used, since so many Nazis seemed to exist all over the world of a sudden.

The answer that was provided was that the term "Nazi" was not intended to be in any way factual. Rather, it was being deliberately applied to anybody holding an opinion that the D&D goons wanted to be stamped out. They called these opinions "Nazi" opinions -- and the opinion-holders "Nazis" -- for two purposes:

  • To signal to each other that they'd spotted a bad person -- not one whose opinions needed to be corrected or contested, but one who needed to be swarmed and either bullied into submission or removed from society altogether
  • To alarm and enrage any useful idiots who were listening and who could worsen the consequences the offender would suffer

In short, "This person is a Nazi" was never used as a statement of fact, only to degrade somebody and make them the target of an angry, ignorant mob. It was a slur in the purest sense of the word. It's lost a lot of its weight in the public sphere due so many people spouting shit like "62,979,636 Americans are Nazis who need to be destroyed," as well as shit like the WoW post quoted above.

And let's talk about that post. I'm going to be autistic about the factions in World of Warcraft.

The Horde in WoW is more or less a big-tent faction. It started out as just the Orcs, an extraterrestrial slave army who were abandoned by their masters and left to die on an alien world that fucking hated them and had a very wide range of reasons to do so. They survived, and eventually thrived, by allying with various other races that the world had shat all over (usually because these races were considered by the rest of the world to be large, ugly, primitive, dumb, ill-tempered, or all of the above). Each member race retained its own territory, cultural identity, and government and things were generally pretty loose, save for that the Horde's leader -- the Warchief -- was supreme commander of the armed forces and had dictatorial authority whenever he chose to exercise it and there were effectively no checks or balances on any of this.

This system of government has twice caused problems. The first time was when a particularly young and angry orc was made Warchief pretty much on the sole basis that he was a war hero and so was his late dad. He stirred up a huge war with the Alliance and committed various atrocities until the rest of the Horde started to wonder what the fuck he was doing -- at which point he revealed himself as an orc supremacist who hated the rest of the Horde. He got dethroned by an internal rebellion, then escaped from his war crimes trial and did all kinds of crazy shit until the previous Warchief killed his ass.

The second time was when a crazy bitch became Warchief solely because the previous Warchief named her so with his dying breath (also because she was a war hero and because somebody at Blizzard went all-in on It's Her Turn). This particular Warchief did pretty much nothing except skulk around and commit atrocities for a couple years, then she stirred up another huge war with the Alliance and committed still more atrocities until she revealed herself as an anime-villain-esque nihilist and was dethroned, once again, by the rest of the Horde.

In general the Horde are an extremely diverse, multicultural, cosmopolitan federation of chads and dudebros who are accustomed to leaving each other's shit alone except when they need to take up arms together to defend the Horde as a whole. This causes problems whenever the person calling out the Horde's targets is a lunatic with an agenda.

The Alliance in WoW originated as a last-ditch attempt to stop the Orcish Horde back when it was an alien slave army destroying every last trace of civilization it could find. They're comprised of less primitive, more aesthetically palatable shit than the Horde -- humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, furries and so forth (they're also smaller and have more fingers on average). They're just as capable in combat as the Horde, though they generally don't enjoy it as much. They're also just as capable of atrocities, such as dumping the entire Orcish Horde in a concentration camp, indiscriminately massacring innocent civilians on the suspicion that they'd caught a germ, and using other races' mercenaries to commit atrocities for them and then exterminating said races for committing the atrocities.

The Alliance's member races also have comparatively close religious ties to one another. While a Horde member looking to get popular might do so by picking a huge barfight and winning, an Alliance member would have far more luck kneeling and praying to the Light alongside everybody else. The Alliance are generally no less prone to evil than the Horde, but they're gentler, more polite, and more xenophobic. They also don't go through leaders as quickly, and they suffer far fewer internal rebellions.

The tl;dr to all of this is that the Alliance and the Horde are both very large, very diverse, and morally gray by design.

The post above appears to be trying to state the following:

  • The Horde can appeal to Nazis because the Horde generally enjoy (both friendly and unfriendly) combat and are generally chillbros
  • The Alliance can appeal to Nazis because the Alliance are generally more aesthetically pleasing and also occasionally xenophobic
  • Therefore, no matter what faction you join in this dumb, dead video game, the faction will contain Nazis, and this is a bad thing because anybody in that faction that you interact with might secretly be a Nazi
  • Ideally there would be a faction that did not appeal to Nazis in literally any way, shape or form whatsoever but still somehow appeal to non-Nazis

The post includes absolutely no idea or suggestion as to how such a Nazi-free faction could exist. Perhaps Blizzard could implement a faction where the only available race, class, gender, and character name was Bernie Sanders.

I've never played WoW, but don't you have to activate pvp mode or go into special zones to do so? Hence it would be consenual?

Yes, and despite this reasonable viewpoint, they still got mad, because in their minds, everyone ran with Warmode on because you get 10% bonuses to everything (XP, rep, rewards, etc) and to attack people who were taking advantage of this was *wrong* and forcing them to play with Warmode off out of fear was some kind of personal attack.

Rust required a willingness to at least work together and pool time and resources. WoW does too -- but this is also why the goon guild doesn't have a single raid team, ranked PVPer, or any achievers of note despite numbering over 600 people.

I think the difference between the two was Rust's height on Something Awful occurred before the purges of organizers, leaders, and content creators, all of whom were conveniently accused of "bad opinions" or wrongthink. Most of the time this ended up with some troon taking over and things collapsing immediately.

Anyone else remember when MMO players were the nerdiest motherfuckers around? Remember when someone playing an MMO was seen as being somewhat sad by most normal people? Remember when people liked(and still like, to be fair) to make fun of people who spend too much time playing MMOs? Well, the goons on the WOW subforum are the sort of utterly pathetic wastes of skin that people who play MMOs can reasonably mock and laugh at.

HahaHa, people are still mad about Censor of Eternal Agony?

GoonSquad is also on Malganis a PVP server which before war mode was damn near entirely populated by one faction, so there wasn’t really any PVP since you really wouldn’t run into any of the opposite faction.

In all honesty everybody already laughed at and despised the EVE goons. But that seems to be its own little subsection that hasn't YET been devoured by the mobs.

This is likely because virtually no one currently in Goonswarm is from SA, has ever posted on SA, and has no idea what a goon actually is beyond the EVE context. All of the "eve goon" posters in the thread in the MMO HMO have long ago quit EVE or quit Goonswarm. They're also smart enough to completely lock down their forums and communications and maintain no real presence on SA beyond a thread in PGS that just links to offsite resources anyway.

The "you must have an SA account to play here" requirement was dropped years ago.

Like anything of value SA has produced, the product cut ties with the parent and its toxic insanity as soon as possible.

PS -- this didn't stop hilarious goonie things occuring though -- like The Mittani taking bribe money from DayBreak Games to shill H1Z1 as the next coming of Christ to his audience, or failing to fund a book kickstarter for personal gain using goons to fund it.

Goon Squad has a couple noteworthy achievements with which I am familiar:

  • They were the first guild in the world to kill its own faction's leaders, which they did via an exploit that allowed them to damage friendly NPCs.
  • They disrupted the rival faction's ability to travel around one continent by getting a particular NPC to chase one player into an underground complex in another zone and then working in shifts to keep that NPC in place for a period of days, during which time they posted a ransom note in the WoW forums. Eventually the GMs stepped in.

Basically their only achievements were breaking shit in unexpected ways. That's most of what they did in EVE too, such as when they found an enormous money-printing loophole and bragged about how much they'd exploited it, which led to a GM intervention that they probably still piss and moan about to this day. That's not to say they were ever the true villains of EVE; every single EVE player manages to be destructively autistic in his own unique way. Though Goonswarm's leader (Alex Gianturco / The Mittani) did once get in trouble for using his podium at EVE's annual convention to call down a hate mob on some other autist for the express purpose of trying to get said autist to neck himself.

Dying to know the reason for that probe lol.

It was issued by Lightning Knight with the following reason:

Now as a general rule it’s not hard to sell “something in America is racist,” but when you’re going to make a post saying extraordinary things are definitely happening and also admitting you have no proof while advocating for things that will worsen public health significantly, maybe it’s time to log off. User loses posting privileges for 6 hours.

He probably wouldn't have gotten probed if he'd included a bunch of evidence photos from Kermit Gosnell's clinic as "proof."

Yes.
There are two types of WoW servers:
PvP- In these servers players may attack each other without any need for previous interaction, back in the very early days of WoW there were some protections for new players, such as very strong NPCs in entrance areas and starting towns, however, later DLCs included mounts that allow you to fly pretty much everywhere.
PvE- In these servers players can't attack each other unless they explicitly consent, however, NPCs will still be hostile to the enemy faction like they were just random mobs, so Horde and Alliance players can't just hang around like they are friends, that's not just lore-unfriendly, is also dangerous since NPCs can murder them.

IMHO PvE servers are less fun because they make some classes that rely on distance and stealth like rogues and hunters less competitive, and remove adventages from races like night elves (such as their ability to hide everywhere anytime). PvP are kinda less popular nowadays due to the aforementioned mounts.

Goons used to fuck with MMOs en masse and grief the fuck out of people through sheer numbers and the unique ability to find out how to be the biggest assholes around.

Now the handful of deranged mutants that are still left on the forums after countless wrong-think culls are having mental breakdowns when someone kills them on a PvP server because it is pretty much the same as rape as far as they are concerned.
