One SA thread that I still remember fondly is one where the football player Kellen Winslow got a (non-life-threatening) injury in a motorcycle accident where he hit a shrub, and a goon found the site where it happened and took photos.

one time a small company I worked for/with got a net 30 deal with a supplier and then sold their shit on Amazon well below the "Minimum Advertised Price" point (if you don't know what that is, it's just price fixing) which meant we got tons of orders

then we just stopped paying the supplier invoices and when they finally stopped shipping out orders we just shut the company down

then all those unpaid supplier invoices became tax write offs as "business losses" for the owners of the company

The product in question was a medical device, which means Amazon doesn't just let any fucko sell 'em. You gotta prove you're legit! Well, we were legit but not at the volume Amazon wanted so we just forged an invoice to show them that we definitely ordered 1000 units last month and that was all we needed to get approved.

Edit: Didn't see that this one's a few months old; someone linked it today in GBS and I assumed it was a new thing. Apologies if anyone's seeing this again!

Having worked for a small web business, I'll buy that there's a fair bit of truth to that story.
When there are only about 10 employees, everyone ends up knowing everything, because you usually end up being called, emailed, or faxed about it. "Hey boss supplier is calling again about the unpaid invoices, and They said they aren't shipping any more orders"

The guy I worked for pulled some shady shit with pricing, so also seems likely that when told to list the product, someone would see the difference between MAP and what they were being told to list it for.
