It hasn't been allowed on SA since 2016, in fact.

They actually have a system on SA where you could bet your account getting banned (Read : $10 bet) and make a prediction called a "Toxx" (long story). Hundreds of people bet their account that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election and yet, when she lost, the admins did not ban anyone in the wake of the "travesty" that had happened via Donald Trump winning the election. That was the most singular moment cementing SA as a leftie hugbox.

Reminder that in 2008 dozens of posters Toxxed for McCain and got swiftly banhammered even before the results were official. As it was 2008 and since they were voting against Chocolate Jesus, most of those posters weren't dick-chopping retarded and never returned, depriving the already rapidly declining forums key voices of sanity and ensuring the loony left's eventual supremacy. This and the Tumblr Invasion are probably the two largest non-Ambien related reasons SA became the shithole it is now.

The Toxx for Romney thread in 2012 knocked out a ton too.

The Hillary Toxx thread drama actually got Lowtax to step in and either enforce the bans, or maybe they had to donate to something to escape the hammer? Can't remember, but it got his attention for a bit, but ultimately resulted in nothing changing.

People who toxxed for Hillary were given the option to escape their ban by donating to some charity. This angered Lowtax since it deprived him of goonbux, and he announced he’d enforce the bans. Hundreds of goons were axed and immediately reregistered.
 
The Hilary toxx back-out also caused Mrs. Lowtax to come on the forums and point out the obvious double-standard. Low-T acted like he was going to fix the fact that the forums were overrun with "everything is political" speds. This sparked a bunch of mods throwing tantrums, culminating in ZDR saying he had "one foot out the door." Because he was the only person who knew how to keep the forums running, Lowtax publicly and immediately cucked out and went back to pretending his sole source of income doesn't exist.

I seem to remember people who successfully toxxed for Trump got a big Trump Tower badge, and then ZDR revoked them all "because it took up too much space" or some other obvious excuse.

There was the pre-Tumblr invasion as well, the cat-lady era. Don't mean to single anyone out, there were cat-men as well but at least they got that star.
The new users were all excited because they had been fans for years and loved the humor. But can't the jokes be about this instead of that, do you really have to make jokes about [thing] I am a [identity] and I don't like it! This attitude that people have against us newcomers shouldn't be this bad, we just try to help improve what you do. Jokes created by a sensitivity committee never works.

Agreed, in 2008 things were already going down the drain as Cat-Lady Modship was in full swing, but you could still post wrong-think and make fun of low-effort trannies. The tankie mods in D&D had to be a little circumspect in enforcing Maoist doctrine and couldn't out-right ban you for being a white and/or a class traitor - they had to put in the effort to puff up another reason, or bait you into modsass; not a lot of work, but some work.

In this environment, you're a conservative, you toxx for McCain, get banned, and see no reason to spend :thetenbux: to re-register and go deal with the triumphant crowing of said insufferables and being told by unemployed sadbrains what was and was not a good post.

Even if all the McCain posters hadn't been banned, its very unlikely that it would have stopped SA from ending up becoming the tranny hugbox it is now, populated by the kind of people it used to make fun of, but I think that the 2008 Toxx and the non-commie, non-tranny posters it drove off was the moment that decline became irreversible.

Around that time or a couple of years later someone made a post making fun of Watch & Wear. This was his current "get up" or whatever it was called, it had text detailing every part and brand of the clothes and accessories he was wearing, including why they were special and how they fit together, as was the custom of that forum. I only have the picture but it was pretty funny.
