One thing about being old on the Internet, I tend to incorrectly assume that other people around are adults despite any idiot being able to go basically wherever. Seeing the SA posts about having 'matured' makes me wonder how many of those posters are kids who signed up with mom's credit card and are now around twenty.

Do some people really just stay in one place on the internet? Like... it's a big place, you can read and post on all the forums. Except SA, I'm not paying 10 bux to post anywhere, but it's still funny to read on (increasingly rare) occasion.

To the person who was talking about how harassing and doxing is terrible, I sort of agree, unless the person it's being done to is legitimately dangerous or trying to get away with something, or spreading false information. But I don't like the idea of doxing people as a threat.

That said, this place doesn't actually make you do any of that. And I'd say there's really not a lot of harassment going on here, at least, there's not supposed to be. This place is supposed to document the ridiculous behavior for the most part, not make it. I suppose that's ironic to say in this thread, as this is an example of something kiwifarms actually did. Of course, the terrible thing they did was buy an ad like anyone else can, and lowtax doesn't actually seem to mind...

SA has now reached the point that if you do not agree very specifically with the hivemind (and it's not just leftism, but a very specific kind of leftism) you can't post anywhere at all any more. Time was that the brigading and dogpiling, backed up with one-sided moderation, was confined to D&D and a couple of other more politically-oriented sub-forums, but slowly it has crept into every other subforum, even places like Pet Island and the Cookery subforum, if you can believe that.

Whilst the big, central forums like GBS, D&D and PYF were always cesspits, it's got to the point where you can't express a contrary opinion in places like AI (the car forum) or the sports threads, even in passing, without the Rapid Response Autism Squad parachuting into the thread to shit it up for a page and a half about how you're TurboHitler.

It's not even cuddly let's-be-nice-to-each-other Bernie-Bro leftism either. It's a hypocritical, intolerant kind of hate-fuelled intersectional post-modernism that hates fun and wants you to check your privilege (but even if you do your opinion is invalid, shitlord). Basically, who you are is now more important than the correctness or reasonableness of your opinion. It's a nasty, divisive ideology that wants to separate people and drive them apart, somehow in the name of "inclusion". There's even a forum for black people (led by KM, a mod who is about as black as a Japanese Flag), segregating themselves in their own hugbox-within-a-hugbox, so that they can be away from those nasty contrary opinions and post over and over about how correct they are about everything.

SA used to be a fun place to post. I'd always stick to non-political topics and have a good time, especially in the more specialist subforums where I could find dorks with the same interests as me. But it really isn't possible any more, this shit is everywhere and I now post about ten times as much here as I do there.

You know what, as an ex-goon, I've found the Farms to be far more tolerant and pleasant than SA ever was. People handle disagreements of opinion like adults rather than screaming children. There are people here with opinions I don't like, and no doubt there are people who hate my opinions too. But we can co-exist without bawling to the mods to delete the nasty thing we don't agree with. SA calls KF "racist" because it has a few posters with what I would consider to be racist views. But that doesn't make KF "racist", it makes KF a place where more than one opinion is permitted. And the fact that these goons can't stand that idea, and literally wish death on thousands of people because they represent genuine diversity (of both demographics and opinion) shows what a toxic shithole SA has become. This isn't a boiled frog, what you're seeing here is classic "First they came for the Jews...then they came for me" willful apathy. He noticed, he just didn't care enough to fix the problem. 10 years ago, he could have just made a wacky zany "they haven't broken any rules, just like you're a faggot but I still let you post i'm using faggot ironically so it ok" post, then step back and let the funny posters dogpile and school these pearl-clutchers, while within 24 hours Helldump would discover the ringleaders are into furry vore and had criminally molested a dog.
