That isn't GBS, it's Rapidly Going Deaf from The Finer Arts, specifically their Internet Critic thread (which basically can be surmised as "everyone whose videos I don't like is alt-right.")

Ya I used to follow that thread until it went full SJW/Tranny/Libtard and anyone with slightly dissenting opinions was run off.

tranny concentration camps now imo

E: Trump builds them and makes Lowtax pay for them. I think SA is patient zero for that shit anyways.

It really was, I remember when all trannys (mostly transtrenders) started popping up on SA a good year or two before it got out onto the greater internet. There may have been other incubation chambers for it but a scary amount of the headaches we gripe about here on the farms are only two or three degrees from different goons.

I've always kinda wondered if it was actually some type of government op.

I believe it did start on SA. They were the first ones to codify the pogrom on wrongthink. It spread from them like a plague.

I remember when you could actually make fun of troons in a few places. I miss those days- the parts of SA where you could criticize progressives from a progressive perspective probably shaped my current politics more than anything else. Now, there's no niche for me and the Farms are my "internet home" even though there's a lot here that I'm really not crazy about.

A lot of people won't re-reg if banned. There already exist a ton of SA related discords and a few FB groups, not to mention places like here, Skullmund and SS, so users already have places other than SA to hang out with their chosen groups of goons. It really is only the diehards who'll try to keep SA afloat and most remaining users aren't diehards.

This is me. I got banned a couple weeks ago for having wrongthink in one of the gun threads on D&D. It was my third username there having been around for 15 years or so, and I'd bought tons (probably ~$500 worth) of AVs in the last year for others, but i'm not going back this time. They can seriously fuck themselves.

Did that lol at dems thread turn out to be a honeypot? It was funny reading that, and every so often someone was like "Hey I just want to make sure while you're loling at dems you're not secretly a bunch of MAGAs or CHUDDs" or whatever stupid ass acronyms they were on the lookout for.
And even with 200 other "Cry about Hillary being cheated out of Her Turn" threads, they had to come into the lol at dems thread and whiteknight for them.

It’s still going strong. There’s a gbs idiot king that keeps the thread on track and kicks anyone out for not staying on topic.

Its actually gotten real funny since there have been like 2 o 3 mod challenges to actually post some Dem's Lols and to a letter each of the lame-ass didn't even try and took like a week or longer probation. Its like the last thread of old SA and people still get real salty about it.

"Well you're MAGATARD!"

Blazing Ownager is definitely doing okay from what I could tell the last time I was there. Pretty sure there has been some rage in qqcs about how he's alt-right nazi cause he's actually pretty even handed from what I saw.

New Transactivism existed long before SA (the "Camp Trans" thing started in the mid-90s I believe), but it's growth rate outside of selected academic and radical circles was very very slow until Occupy. Something happened during those years that spread it rapidly, including among selected internet communities like SA and 4chan. The best theory I can come up with is that those early radicals and academics met up in person with a number of young internet people (many goons attended these protests, as did much of the Anonymous contingent) during Occupy protests, leaving a huge impression on them. From there the ideology mutated into a form more suitable for spreading online and grew into what we recognize now.

This means that Something Awful or even offshoots like WDDP or Postplace weren't quite at the center of New Transactivism, as it's too big for any one website community to contain. Rather, it became home to a relatively modest cross-section of the movement. Growing large and powerful enough to be able to successfully coup both radical feminism (calling those who did not adjust their worldview "TERFS") and existing transgender activism (calling those transpeople who disagreed with them "truscum") is far beyond the scope of your average "goon project", but credit where credit is due, I suppose.

One really cool back end upgrade would be to know who spends how much on what, Then lowtax and mods would have a better idea who their fucking pay pigs are.

While the idea that lowtax is collecting goons’ credit card info was a slashie/negromancer conspiracy theory delusion, I would be surprised if they couldn’t get a general idea from the number of automated store emails being sent and to where.

This is all my recollections and I can't back it up with sources because the SASS threads are long gone, but...
Radium was crowing about changing the database schema to store credit card numbers as integers because OMG SAVES BYTES! which exposes the fact that they were in fact storing them for "some reason" and in a separate incident fistgrrl let slip that she cross referenced permabanned goons' credit card numbers against a spreadsheet she kept, so she knew who was a re-reg with a new name so she could ban them on sight. I mean, I'm not saying lowtax is attempting to do credit card fraud but they're using the numbers for purposes that wouldn't be in keeping with his merchant agreement for sure.
