Nah, this is just the outrage of the month. Give it a couple of weeks and FAU will be back to playing games on steam, no longer giving a shit about The Children Are Literally being Murdered In Holocaust Concentration Rape Camp Infant Gas Chamber Desert Toddler Prison Cages or whatever the most recent extremely emotional take is.

You won't see this level of outburst until the next extremely woke controversy. Say Zoe Quinn dies of super syphilis, then he would be valiantly manning the battlements against any opinion that wasn't outraged.
 
I gotta say, the detention center spergout is incredible. It’s got all the usual suspects foaming at the mouth, on SA and elsewhere.
 
The recent detention center ban-fest is what has finally driven me to register here. Over the past few months I've seen people banned for suggesting Democrats and Republicans were equally as bad (Jose the culprit there), saying that IQ was a good measure of intelligence and that a good part of the differences between individuals in IQ were genetic (they danced around the race issue because I guess they weren't suicidal) and now this bullshit as Facts Are Useless is having overwhelming motherly feelings in response to 1,000 children being detained. There's nowhere to have general conversation where a plurality of opinions can be expressed on SA without at worst a ban and at least a dogpiling by the group thinkers whose arguments consist of them posting a series of extremely weak burns while avoiding any engagement. Fuck SA and fuck Lowtax.

Ain't it the truth, for as evil as the farms supposedly are there is a shit-ton of discourse here compared to a place like SA.
 
Oh man, I was never a member of SA but I do enjoy going there from time to time. But even in the very non-political topics I would read, I started to see that moderation was more about thought policing and virtue signalling than enforcing rules to improve the forum.

Does posting work only in GBS? The other forums just kinda froze up. Somebody go and post empty threads with the URL of subreddits for each topically fitting subforum in the subject line.

Also real cool damage control by lowtax. I dunno how late it is where he lives but I'd have something configured so that at least staff can contact me if there's something very wrong and which I get as urgent notification or something, it's my livelyhood after all. I guess he'll wake up some when around noon and put up a wacky zany forums maintenance message two or three hours later.
