I don't know exactly how tribe membership works, but apparently I have a great-great aunt who in the late 1800s got sick of all her relatives insinuations about her being an old maid and how she needed to find a man to marry (according to family oral history, specifically it was her mother complaining about how having an unwed daughter who was almost 30 was scandalizing the family) by going out and finding and marrying a full-blooded Cherokee*. Which DEFINITELY caused a scandal.

Apparently before they built casinos/had to share the revenues with the tribe it was easier to get in, and according to my grandfather he was contacted by a tribal representative (in the 50s or 60s) who asked my Grandfather if he wanted to use this family connection to become a member of that Cherokee sub-tribe, since his great aunt marrying this guy qualified him.

*Apparently quite happily; Marriages based on spite can work out. they never had any kids.

Well yeah, tracking down an actual native ancestor with detail requires tons of work, given how spotty records were at the time and the fact that most of the nations are extinct at this point. Way easier to just assume a tribe and roll with it. That way you don't even have to get off of your couch to be oppressed.

the reason why everyone's Cherokee is because the Cherokee were one of the most successful tribes because they went full "Well the white invaders seem to have this worked out, how can we be like them?" to the point where there are period annecdotes from travelers would wonder when Cherokee country started, and not realizing the 'modern' farm they staying at was owned by a Cherokee man. Because of this, their population increased from pre-columbian numbers, and they absorbed a bunch of the smaller tribes around them. They were also very open to intermarriage.
Cherokee were completely on board with getting rich and adopting Western technology and concepts, and they loved - LOVED - them some slavery. The Cherokee sent 2 regiments, as well as other volunteers, to the confederate side of the Civil War*, and supposedly were instrumental behind developing the "rebel yell"

Yeah the trail of tears is pretty much horseshit, you've been lied to. See the Cherokee leadership sold their land to the US for cash and more land further west (there was a little bit of fuckery about that, being the guy who sold the land probably didn't have the authority to have done so, but the rest of the tribal leadership fell in line. And then murdered the fuck out of him for selling tribal lands when they got to the new place.).
The government said "Everyone out by January 1, 2 years from now. Anyone still there will be moved by force". The result was a combination that 1) January 1 is the middle of winter and 2) Most of the people who didn't relocate were sick or old; it wasn't a march, most of the people rode, and it wasn't a single mass of people but more like a few to a few dozen at a time. But travel was still really arduous in the early 1800's, travel in winter especially so, and most of the sick and old didn't make it, or were so depleted from the trip they died soon after reaching their destination.
The Cherokee tribal leadership at the time didn't really give a shit. Really the primary mistake was trying to move the hold outs in winter instead of waiting till spring, when the mortality rate would have been greatly reduced, or just letting the old people keep their cabins till they died.

*There's a more to it than just the Slavery aspect, specifically they viewed the Confederacy's anti-federalism/pro-states rights approach preferable to dealing with the Federal Government - they saw a mostly independent Cherokee Nation as fitting in the Confederacy, but past experience taught them the Federal Government would flex on them eventually - but they were unbashedly pro-slavery.

tl;dr They are claiming ancestry to slave owners.

There is a reason for that the Cherokee were expelled by jackson and sent to okalahoma they kept records of this mass relocation, thus its possible to find records. my cousin went to oklahoma to see if the cherokee in the family tree was real. The researcher he paid said "not saying its not real but I cant any ancestry"

Thinking back to this I believe there is some kind of behind the scenes push to clean up the forums again. I had noticed over the past month or two that the extremely woke moderation had died off and even thought about commenting here that I thought the forums were improving because of it. You didn't see FAU or ZDR for weeks and there were only a couple of the shitty mod actions a day maybe.

However the other night I commented on R.Guyovich hitting the forums with like four dozen probations in a single night, then Smythe started talking about the image of the forums and last night there were four dozen more probations, all of them approved or given by FAU.

Some of them include
- A month for saying Retard "We don't use that word"
- A week for saying Faggot
- 3 Days for using ((( ))) in a post
- A week for saying Mulatto
- A week for saying a woman needs a cock in her mouth
- 3 days for making a thread calling for accountability in the moderation
- 3 days for defending gun ownership
- 3 days for "Transphobia" for saying "Traps are gay"
- A week and a ban for mocking Asexuals in the Bojack thread
- 3 days for saying women are bad at sports

Plus an extra focus on cracking down on "Helldumping" resulting in a bunch of probations for people just mentioning things other people have said in the past.

Since ZDR owns the forums and stated that the reason they are losing money is the moderation isn't woke enough I think this sudden, out of nowhere extreme focus on political correctness is coming from him again. Probably because Lowtax spent all his money on surgeries and is crying again about how SA isn't paying all of his bills while allowing him to not have a job.

Between travel to NYC and doctor shopping to score more oxy & ambien, Lowtax isn't paying much attention to the forums, but is needing money (for oxy & ambien) so probably listening to whatever gay SJW voodoo ZDR is preaching to up forum revenue.

The American's worst enemy is also itself in general. Excluding my embarrassing libertarian edgy phase, the people being posted about in this thread have driven me more to the right than anything else because they made me take a hard look at how I regarded people who disagreed with my opinions.

He ain't wrong. I fucking hated Canadians that weren't in their military when I worked and traveled abroad. Other Americans were normally okay so long as they werent the assholes who do a sandals vacation and think it's indicative of the rest of the country.

Aussies were normally the coolest followed by Brits who wanted to give me shit for being American. Those guys were normally hilarious

LOL as someone who has been a fan of MDE for nearly five years (see my username), Sam Hyde is definitely not someone you should envy.
