In addition to this, begging in countless threads, an avatar buying campaign, selling $30 T-shirts and selling his shit like craigslist using admin announcements the site has also stepped up the intrusive ads.

You see these sometimes when the pozzed as fuck Admins need to take out their rage. During the Vegas shooting people were getting obliterated for shit like this while the admins were visibly upset at the shooting.

Yeah, in terms of ideas and politics, or perspective on current events, SA has always been an echo chamber. Not only because of the ego of Lowtax, who doesn't really have any solid political ideology anyway and just says sarcastic things he thinks his inner circle will laugh at, but people especially people like EPG who was far left. The Debate and Discussion forum was really a "get targetted for bannings and avatar changes by McCaine the communist gay moderator." Like, literally gay and communist. I think there's a blurb about him on ED if not a whole page. He was there because EPG liked him. And of course this would keep on happening since Lowtax really just wants to please his inner circle and EPG (and Fistgrrl) was (were) the most politically outspoken people there. I'm pretty sure EPG and Fistgrrl led to Ozma and Icequeen and everything else. Apolitical Lowtax just smiling like a circus clown hoping they're happy.

I think he does. I don't remember the thread but he started ranting about how the mods weren't what was wrong with SA.

That seemed a little weird because you can't even speak about the mods on SA much less call them out for being worthless. The only place that really goes into that is SASS or here so I don't know who else he would be talking about when he wants to argue that giving a bunch of ultrawoke SJWs unlimited power over his customers was actually a good idea.

Hatred of the more annoying mods seeped through all the time in QCS. Couldn't go a week without a thread hinting that everyone hated Ralp and wanted him gone a year or two ago, for instance.
 
Also the general attitude being "Well, you goons would hate any replacement mods too because that's just the nature of forum users, so we're gonna keep and defend these shitty ones, and get tougher on goons who disagree" doesn't help at all.

I'm not sure I've ever seen another forum take that sort of view on its members. The idea that users just naturally hate mods for no reason and so therefore the mods must be both empowered against them, yet protected from them is so weird. How does that even make any sense?

It's just another sad example of LowT being a decade late to the party. Say what you will about the quality of doom house, at the time LowT was actually doing something innovative in 2004 by making web based movies. Sure, you had goofy flash videos on Newgrounds, You had Realplayer (lol... buffering), Youtube was a couple years away, and Amazon only sold books. Nowadays he has to compete with every idiot with an iPhone. Hell, LowT actually started his YouTube channel in 2006 where he uploaded one video and left the channel stay dormant until a few years ago when he started doing gaming garbage. Imagine if he got on the ground floor and made content and got advertising deals back when he actually had fans.

It goes back to SA's elitist fart huffing attitude about being THE SMARTEST FORUMS ON THE 'NET (tm) and by extension, the SA mods are the smartest mods on the net. And since THE INTERNET MAKES YOU STUPID (tm), anyone who joins is automatically a rabble rousing pants shitting cyber vermin who needs strict, heavy handed moderation to keep them in line and to stop them from shitting up the forums.
