This picture and others like it caused a lot of triggering on SA too. It's had a bunch of different captions, this is just the one I found.

SA wasn't quite as bad when vilerat was moderating (although not specifically because of vilerat). In those days before it got real bad, GIP was actually a bastion for pro-America non-tankies, and despite being very liberal, D&D allowed dissenting opinions.

You could even get away with calling McCaine a faggot back then without immediately being banned for mod sass or hate speech.

It's as if he was frozen in cryogenic status with his brain somehow linked directly to his website for a decade or more. He awakens from his slumber to find the world, or rather the internet is a completely different place. No longer is his the powerhouse it once was (or even vaguely relevant). No longer is he fighting angry right wing pearl clutching soccer moms and evangelical prudes who are powerless to do anything but make vague threats of lawsuits to him. Instead they've been replaced by left wing ideologues who are perpetually offended by everything on earth. Unfortunately for him they have the power to remove him from various platforms (Twitter). Barely anyone cares to post much less join the Something Awful forums anymore; the one place where blase, carefree attitude really worked.
Unfortunately Mr.Lowtax has had a very rude awakening.

It looks as if he is trying to jump on the platform with antifa and the rest of the far leftists but, he ends up coming across as "how do you do my fellow kids"

Out out of curiosity I checked out Lowtax's Patreon again, lo-and-behold he came to life to support it for a very short period of time and then fucked right back off. He's officially changed it over from being just Gaming Garbage related to now encompass Gaming Garbage, Murder the Internet as well as just generally supporting the Something Awful forums. Since making that change he's actually seen a nice little boost in numbers.

I think that's because he included the forums in it as well so people who are really into those are able to support him in an easier way. That said, it appears that his interest in it has fallen off a cliff again. His last update was on August 29th and it was only to plug his merch.

If you look at the updates before then, they tell kind of a sad tale in three pictures. Below, Rich asking for ideas for Podcast discussions topics, presumably to use for bonus Patreon-exlusive episodes.

Sheesh, I know Lowtax! That is uncool up what Twitter did to you, baning you like that! Don't let them silence you by keeping you off Twitter! Anyone with half a brain could see it wasn't a threat! I mean don't they know you are clearly someone who knows the difference between a joke and a real threat?

His patreon was stuck around $200 bucks until he started begging on the forums for people to donate. That was several months ago and since then it's been stuck around the $700 mark. $500 a month is all the forum members think his place is worth. There are trannies on patreon that get more than that for just existing.

Nah they know better. It is kind of funny seeing him tell people to get lost in the thread he made about the show my 600 pound life. It's become a laugh at fat people thread and those are usually trolled then gassed.

Yeah, that particular thread shows how Lowtax hasn't even actually looked at SA in a long time.

Mocking fat people has been a huge no-no for a really long time on SA. Any thread that has tried it has been closed and people probated and banned for taking part. Oddly enough the demographics of SA seem especially sensitive about their weight. It was even worse when the tumblrina mod was still active since you couldn't make fat jokes in her domain period.

That and the fat admin who mysteriously was extremely harsh on fat jokes for like 5 years while she was in power.

Then old man Lowtax wanders in off the street and thinks you can just make fun of something on Something Awful completely unaware that hundreds of people have been ran off of his site specifically for posting the way he is in that thread right now.

But where are all the posters?! Revenue is down 90% guys!

As we all know Goons have been known for being fine, upstanding members of society. They all have IQs higher than your average Mensa member. They always are frugal and donate to charities. Above all else none would ever participate in sexual deviancy or any other activity that our civilization would look down upon.

I guess things like that prove that since his twitter ban he is actually paying attention to SA again.

It also proves how long it has been since he bothered but hey it's progress.

I'm curious to see how the extremely woke contingent that thought polices the forums with FactsAreUseless' support handles Lowtax having problematic opinions if he actually does continue to stay and post. FactsAreUseless can't just eliminate the people the woke crew screech at and close the thread when Lowtax is the OP and is taking part.
 
Why not? The last time Lowtax wandered back in and sponsored a thread, FAU gassed it after a day. Lowtax ungassed it and it stayed open for a few more days, then promptly got shut down again when Lowtax's attention span expired.
