A couple of people have messaged me to tell me that the name "Justin Brill" that BBG uses on his steam and patreon accounts is not, as I had assumed, an alias. Edit: I also (wrongly) assumed that the personal info he would occasionally post on SA was deliberately misleading, it's apparently not misdirection.

Found this jaunty little read while looking at RPG forum/Anna kreider stuff. Turns out our femminist buddies at something awful have been enjoying some good old fashioned slut shaming because her boyfriend might have said something mean about trans.
YOSPOS is one of the few SA subforums I browse and there's a thread called "how's the forums rewrite going?" kind of making fun of lowtax' latest attempt to fix the forums. Usually the posts aren't too bad but the last five pages or so have been people flat out calling out his bullshit and making fun of him personally. You know things are bad when a tranny that looks like a Jets linebacker is dunking on you. I'm surprised no one was banned or probated for it either.
I posted in YOSPOS for a few years, it's kinda weird. They get away with this stuff because they're lumped into "FYAD-lites" like Imp Zone, and those tend to be able to say whatever they want. However they don't really act like one. There's shitposting and in-jokes, but it's definitely a more approachable forum than any of the other FYAD-lites.
My guess is that the moderators agreed, and nobody reported it because it's basically all true. YOSPOS has always been one of the most critical forums regarding the state of the SA forums, mostly because everyone there is IT or a programmer and understand the forums mess as well or better than Lowtax does.
YOSPOS was cut out of forums cancer after like a day. Its lucky that it keeps to itself and doesn't have a bunch of shithead moderators trundling around, banning everyone who is more popular than themselves.

YOSPOS is maybe the only FYAD-lite that lives in semi-symbiosis with its parent forum. Games forum generally hates Imp Zone, D&D definitely hated LF, GBS hates FYAD, but SH/SC and YOSPOS are relatively cool with each other. I think that's part of why outside moderators leave them alone.
Actual YOSPOS mods are generally cool as shit. Also, drama really doesn't spill out of YOSPOS (or in it, it's a drama-free forum for the most part), so there's no reason for anyone to come in to clean up any messes.
tl;dr: imo it's a mix of YOSPOS being relatively chill and insulated so there's no reason for outside moderators to come in and start shit, and sharing enough common interests with their parent forum that there's not a bunch of pissy SH/SC posters looking to invade YOSPOS and get everyone banned.

You're pretty much spot-on. As soon as forums got so up-their-own-ass and uber-serious about everything that dedicated shitposting forums had to be created because GOD FORBID you shitpost in the main forum, it was the beginning of the end
The mods censored the (((jew))) echoes to "I love cock" or something. They did it half-assed, so it looks like the censorship ia easily bypassed by inserting a space, or using a defferent number of parentheses, or even a different symbol. Between the mod ineptitude and the SS members flapping their hands autistically and crying angrily because they can't arrange their punctuation marks "in the correct order", SS has gotten funny for a change. Don't worry, it won't last.
