Seeing the absolute state of Something Awful today makes me glad I never re-regged after getting banned over a decade ago. I got my value out of my account and moved on.

Thank you for the correction, I guess I mixed her up with someone else. I don't understand the comparison with Caroline Farrow though. Willa Rogers certainly seems to be on Team Troon in spite of being a woman.

With Cogent banning anyone posting objectionable content, it'd be a real shame if all the Crackhead Club house and CSPAM fedposting & jew-hate was brought to someone's attention and Jeff-os investment was heaved off the internet. A definite loss for humanity.

Considering how C-SPAM already has gotten many GBS and D&D posters angry at them for the crime of preferring the Russians over the Ukranians, I'm surprised nobody has tried to go that far in order to get C-SPAM shut down.

I was reading the GBS Ukraine thread and a goon got a ban +30 for merely talking about a war video where peope got gernaded.

It reminded me how GBS had the Mt Everest Threat every year and there would be photos of dead bodies.

Why even have these threads if they the mods are gonna be crazy over them?

Also every few months I check the numbers of whose logged in and whose browsing and yeah the forum went from about 5K to about 3K

I wonder through....what would be the tipping point of death for SA? I assume its already been hit but people seem to keep using it. When daily usage is less then 1k people? Under 500? When the site is just nothing more then D&D/CSPAM with every poster having their own mod?

It's really whenever Jeff decides it isn't worth it anymore. SA doesn't cost much to run and he still thinks it's cool to be "President of Something Awful". When he gives it up, it's unlikely anyone will care to pay any real money for the honor of being the new Jeff.

I do think somebody will try to keep running SA if Jeff sells it well into the 2030's but only because they are one of the rich weird spergs of the original LF who blame the downfall of SA for inadequate amount of Maoist Third-Worldism instead of you know, having insane people run the asylum for the sake of appeasing the whims of people who love nothing more than getting offended will end up buying it for a bit in hopes that it might ensure Bernie Sanders getting elected in 2036.
