Apparently the goon fund gets like $4,000 per month on Patreon with no oversight. All handled by a single CSPAM-brained schizo. I have zero doubt he's embezzling some (most) of the money, lol.

Goons and really most online lefties in general are very easy touches for slacktivist causes that only require entering your credit card info to own the chuds. It's why stuff like Chapo Trap House is such a huge (capitalist) success. You don't actually have to do anything to support The Struggle but you can funnel some of your IT Support Specialist check to some dudes on the internet who are going to fix it all for you. Asking questions is not allowed, because that's what my dad the alt-right does!

Yeah, he's 100% using it to gamble just like the first time he got a callout, and is either larping or lying about how much he actually has to make it seem like he's this cool good-with-money dude you can trust. To be fair this is the literal opposite of what Chapo does, they don’t claim to be able to fix anything. In fact most of the time they claim the entire system is unfixable. They’re shitposting in a podcast and they’re the first to admit it. They’re best friends with Cumtown ffs.

Oh yeah I agree. They're one of the very few leftist groups actually willing to poke fun at the left, so I respect them for that.

They just have a population of their fanbase who are insane and seem to view donating to them and related causes as paying indulgences to the church of anti-capitalism. It's not really any different than people giving the Babylon Bee tons of money thinking that'll fight transgender bathrooms or whatnot.

Oh, their fan base is entirely insufferable, no question about that. It’s just a shame that most people know them from those fucking idiots than from their actual podcast, which is legitimately funny.

Edit: While I probably agree politically with about 80% of what SA posters do, I certainly don’t agree with the way they act or treat other people.

I think regardless of people's opinions on the China Virus we can all unify under the banner of goons being a combination of addicted to fear and desperate to own the CHUDS at all costs so that means going the exact opposite direction they perceive them to take.

Goons in the tabletop thread had a brief diversion from pearl clutching about board game designers that don't believe the things they SHOULD believe to take a couple of swings at local game shops that (gasp) don't enforce mask mandates. These are the hypochondrial retards that if you dropped all restrictions tomorrow and said "we beat the virus!" they'd be out there wearing face shields and four N95s taped together.
 
The thing about goon politics is that so much of it, like twitter liberalism, is as reactionary as any moronic CHUD on the other side. Despite their pretentions, the COVID thread was full of people outright denying science and the previous history of pandemics in human society to be sure that this one was going to play out like a game of Plague Inc. in real life. The protection measures are literally just a way of performatively demonstrating their assumed superiority over their CHUD enemies. If you try to push in the opposite direction at all, for any reason (like saying that lockdowns, whether or not you think they are necessary, carry real economic and personal consequences for people, and those shouldn't be discounted) you get shouted down as a COVID denialist. I know someone who was in Vietnam while some of the big lockdowns were going on, and it was fucking scary. Maybe the lockdowns saved enough lives to justify it, I don't know, I'm not able to make a moral judgement for every society on earth. But pretending that blind trust in institutions is somehow always a virtue is just as dumb as any libertarian rant about the right to see people's lower faces.

Jeff needs to shut that thread (as well as the other covid threads which are probably just as bad) down for his users' mental wellbeing and implement a one month ban on any covid threads being reopened so maybe those retards will get bored enough to go outside and calm down.

I remember it coming into being around 2016 when there was a schism between the I'm With Her crowd and the Berniebro doomers.
