Actually it does because "engineer" doesn't mean anything and there's no requirements to call yourself an "engineer". There's no lie here. I wrote a bare metal 3D software rasterizing game engine as a "hobby". Meanwhile nobody blinks an eye when webshitters call themselves "engineers", because they got paid money? The term is "professional".
Canada is an entirely irrelevant country. I don't care that they're angry non-train conductors are calling themselves "engineers".
There's no requirements to call yourself an "engineer" while you're not giving any services pertaining to engineering.
It's not just Canada, most functioning countries runs a regulating body for professional engineers. You can call them all irrelevant which is fine, but maybe if America had something similar, you wouldn't see empty leaning skyscrapers and collapsing condos killing dozens of people.
The relevance of these regulators has little to do with actual hands-on engineering but more to do with regulations, codes of conduct and adhering to standards. This all sounds like tranny talk but it's an attempt to make sure our bridges and buildings won't collapse, or to minimise gross misconduct.
Lots of so called engineers are glorified paperwork pushing monkeys in a suit (or sloppy polo shirts) but ultimately we are also decision makers. That's why for example substituting reinforcement rods with bamboos is unheard of in countries with strict rules. There are countless situations where engineers must stand up to their superiors who make poor decisions based on temporary financial gains, the regulators provide engineers with a backbone to do so.
Next people are going to starting saying Steve from Gamers Nexus has been lying because he doesn't actually have a professional background in manufacturing PCBs, his Mandarin is shit and he doesn't even know how to code! I don't know Steve's background, and I don't care. His work is legit.
Steve never boasted about "being an engineer", he has products to show, he never pretends to be a know-it-all and he's also quite humble. His Mandarin is all right. Unironically, he acts more like an old-school engineer with stupid autistic weasel wordings and asterisks. Steve is the least offensive in any context (aside from MIGA dimwits bitching about his tariff video because they can't get off Orange's dick).
I've watched about 1% of Muta's content, which is still a ton of content. He has never offended me with his technical opinions or statements. I am a subject matter expert. I know he knows less than me. I do not care, he's just a streamer man who covers stuff sometimes. Credentialism is retarded and I've never heard Muta appeal to credentialism. I knew nothing of his parents, his education or his work experience and it honestly does not matter. He's a professional tuber/streamer and convenience store franchisee. I don't know what people expected from a 30 something year old who has been streaming for the last 10 years. He clearly doesn't have a ton of work experience outside of that. I assumed he did a lot of part time small business IT consulting, something teenagers do.

In isolation, his larp isn't offensive. Most people with a degree in engineering won't go around saying "as an engineer, I...". Mootahar was just being a jeet. His jeet dad also boasts about him being an engineer.

- He claimed to be a realtor/estate/property developer
- He claimed to be a computer engineer (hardware shit plus code plus electrical engineering -- seriously?)
- I will ignore some other instances like "video engineering" because he was clearly just babbling incoherently. It's quite unfair to go through his backlog of hundreds of videos to find a few isolated incidents of engineering claims that were clearly off-script.
This leads us to:
- He weaseled his way out of his friend and cohost of a show they run called Nux Taku. Nonce Taku was finally seeing the consequences of his EPI.
- The Jirard, Mama Max and Billy Mitchell drama
- He constantly claimed YouTube is beyond him when it's obvious that most of his income were from his slop videos
- He claims to be beyond drama, yet he hopped on the Maldavius Figtree gravytrain immediately, because $.
Mootahar lies about
everything.
He uses "muh credentials" constantly in drama slop. Normies believe him because he appears to be reputable and "YouTube isn't mah job" when none of that was true.
That's why many people are up in arms. If he lied about his career but never involved himself in drama slop, then none of this truly matters. You don't seem to follow his slapfights so I get where you're coming from. There's clearly a bigger picture here.
