He certainly has talked about things he has allegedly worked on, such as a banking app and that "h65 codec". I don't expect him to be able to provide any evidence of the banking app, but how about you show us that "codec" you're working on? It doesn't have to be the code, just show us it working, should be easy. He has no reason to hide it either, surely he would want people to know he made such a great piece of software. He's also clearly into Linux and free software, has he never contributed anything on Github?

This might not actually apply to him. America has a similar thing, as a PE requires specific certification that you obtain by passing a specific exam and you can only claim to be one if you hold the certification, but being an "engineer" in general doesn't require it. Having a BSE does not make you a PE either. As in you can be an engineer by profession, but you're not a professional engineer as weird as it is.

It's like claiming to be a medical doctor and claiming to be a doctor, one is a protected term and one is anyone who falls into a vague definition you can buy for a $50. Alternatively, there's the case of Joe Biden's wife being a "doctor" because she has a doctorate in education, versus Ben Shapiro's wife who is an actual doctor. Did you know she's a doctor folks?

Its crazy to think that at some point boogie was seen as this super wholesome guy thats very kind. Some people are so easily tricked by performative bs and lack instincts.

This isn’t the best comparison, since both are “Actual Doctors” that received a doctorate degrees in their respective fields. A better comparison would be those alternative medicine nuts that come up with similar acronyms to “MD” in order to trick clientele.

“Engineer” is a much broader title, but the barebone requirement is that they have a technical skillset that they use professionally. If you have some form of technical skills but aren’t using them professionally, you’re a hobbyist. I believe Muta falls into this category

Some people genuinely can’t see sharks until it’s too late. They think that primal disgust towards indians and fatties is a bad thing and to be ignored. It’s also how “paying the toll” happens, ignore instinct, do something really stupid, reap the rewards of ignoring your own biological survival computer.

I think he lacks the knowledge to even qualify as a coder/programmer. Does he know how the hardware works (for example the Write Back/Write Through cache), or how to program with more advanced languages like Scala/Java/C++/C, or do highly advanced Python projects.
I don't deny, he knows a lot about setting up Arch linux, KVM, Blockchains but I doubt he is advanced enough to be a a SysAdmin/Working with servers. You can say he did a good thing by striking interest of younger audiences to experiment with Linux and Virtualization, but he is extremely shallow.

If anyone's interested, yes, even if you have an engineering degree and worked as an engineer for decades, you cannot technically call yourself one without being registered, or possess paperwork that's equivalent to these schemes.
It's not. It's about liability, keeping up with current standards and making ethical decisions.

This is very common, it's just not enforced. I don't think I've heard of any fines being handed out to those who larp as engineers in videos and conference talks. Moootahar can safely call himself an engineer without any repercussions unless he does something criminal, I suppose. Like he does cyber security consultation and his "advice" leads to something bad, they check him and it turns out he's lying about being a software engineer which got him the job. Now he might face prison time. Something like that.

Engineers often must make decisions that could have massive impacts. We have to balance cost with quality. Should I swap the rods to something that's 1mm diameter less to save $100k? What could happen? What if the dipshit greedy boss pressures me to do this? I'll point to the code of conduct with my calculations and tell him if the structure collapses, he's done. We're all fucked. An "engineer" like Moootahar might just take the path of least resistance and sign it off.
Ultimately, engineers don't really need to call themselves one and boast about it. That's a very Indian thing to do. Engineers have résumés pricing their worth.

One of the many lessons I learned during work when I was in high school was how to appease jeets. I learned that if Dr. Pajeet Kumar is referred to as "Dr. Pajeet Kumar" instead of just "Mr. Kumar", they're likely to drop a massive fat tip. Especially in front of their colleagues.
Does that sound really pathetic? Yeah, it does. I'm not surprised that Moootahar wants to larp as something he's not. It's in his DNA. You can take the Jeet out of India and drop him in Canada but you can't take the India out of the Jeet.
