Ngl, I really don't care about this current drama at all. There's definitely smoke but no fire and if I were Muta then I'd probably just ignore this as hard as I possibly could since the only real way to deboonk it is to share all of kinds of personal info about my real life and work history which I just wouldn't do to win the drama of the week.

Despite having watched a fair amount of Muta over many years I have idea how what his educational background is. I assumed he had probably worked in IT for a couple years based on his enjoyment of virtual machines and Linux. Canada is famous for stubbornly refusing programmers to call themselves "engineers" so I don't even know what people are talking about. Degrees and certificates are irrelevant and he's not doing a Lex Friedman by trying to associate himself with an existing school (like MIT).

I guess people are trying to connect Muta to PirateSoftware but Muta has never tried to play himself off as an infallible authority figure. He's just a reasonably informed power user. This tea is cold.

Call me when it's revealed that he's been pulling immigration scams to staff his 7-11s.

He very much does portray himself as an infallible authority figure. Maybe not as overtly as Jason Hall, but he does have that above it all attitude.
Especially with his whole AI tool nonsense that he is trying to sell to Microsoft or whatever.
He was also called out by Ethan Klein of all people for the whole "Is someone trying to steal my car" thing. Which reminds me of penguinz0 also flaunting around a weapon trying to seem tough.
For someone so concerned with privacy he really does seem to reveal a lot about himself. If I was more schizo I would believe that all of these contradictions are just his attempts at throwing false information around to obscure his private life, but seeing as this is a slop youtuber we are talking about, I find general delusion, need for validation and need of public attention and respect more likely.

"Engineer" means "You better add 20k at thr minimum to that offer." It sounds like it means something, and in some fields it does; like electrical engineer or chemical engineer, you probably passed some sort of criteria and schooling to bless you with the title. When it comes to computers, it gets thrown around a lot, and often with little to no meaning behind it. It's just a word used to demand a higher skillset and higher salary; sometimes they'll use the word "Architect" as in "Network Architect." There are legit computer engineers out there; but the majority of the people you'll find calling themselves one is probably an admin/power user.

That's fair an all but how many of his audience took his advice because he of his claims? His content doesn't change because of his lies, just his credibility.

He should just come clean. It ain't a big issue. It will become a bigger issue if he does another deep dive and talks with a finger up his ass how he's an engineer and knows what he's talking about when in reality he probably just watched informative content and regurgitated it for his audience.

I'm not really seeing the bombshell here. Computer Science/Cybersecurity is one of the few fields where you don't really need a degree to be successful or hold down a job. A lot of people in the States simply do a year long certificate program or a bootcamp to prove some level of basic competency. Your portfolio and skillset is more important than your papers.

I don't mean to sound like too much of a boomer dad after watching a motivational speech on Facebook but Bill Gates is technically an engineer despite never having acquired a bachelors' degree. If he's actually held down a job in cybersecurity, it doesn't matter that he has no degree.

I think this video takes advantage of the fact that people associate the word "engineer" with Mechanical engineers tinkering with when really the word "engineer" extends to just about any job involving "designing" or "building" things. Sound Engineering (something that's more art than science) is a field that's worlds away from something like Bioengineering (way more science than art). You don't need a degree to be a Sound Engineer.

This guy has had Muta living in his head rent free for a year, it seems like he's trying to redirect some of the hatred/ire that PirateSoftware is getting for having fudged his credentials towards Muta because Muta hates Hasan and ChudLogic.

But he does take sponsorships for tech products and software. He is using his reputation as an "engineer" who worked in fields like cybersecurity or IT to vouch for and promote products is extremely scummy and should be called out more.

I don't think some people are sincerely watching the videos before responding because most of their flimsy counters are wholly covered in the videos. People would rather write entire paragraphs predicated upon arguments debunked in their totality and then blindly assume it covers the evidentiary basis for the claims being made.

Apparently "bad faith" is when you've also additionally criticized other aspects of an individual's conduct... with no regards to whether it's actually bad faith.

The real bad faith being exhibited is the pretense that whether or not people hated Mutahar before these revelations has bearing on the merits of the claims.

Sure, look at Null for example. But Null's experience and skills in the field are self evident by keeping this God forsaken website online inspite of everything done to take it offline. Muta has not created anything or maintained any sort of portfolio that showcase his work or skill in that field. He is just like Jason in that regard. Always talking about his experiences and credentials but with nothing to show for it.
