I like startpage.com as far as search engines go, though I don't know if there's any reason not to use it. Also DDG's founder was into some shady shit involving selling info years back iirc.

Sumatra is an amazing e-reader and a lot better than adobe's fucking shit PDF reader, or just using whatever laggy-ass PDF reader your browser has.

Droidsound-e is probably the best audio player on Android, but it can be a little technical to set up. Due to initial complaints the developer received, it's no longer on the Play Store, but you can download the apk from the project's github.
https://github.com/droidmjt/Droidsound

I use it for playing video game sound files, and it's worked for every console and home computer audio file I threw at it.

Edit: There is an old version of this on the Play Store called Droidsound, but it's unsupported and almost unusable. Don't get it.

As a retarded normie who browses the site just to laugh at idiots do I have to worry about privacy

Please advise I am as tech savvy as you average grandma

I use Waterfox it runs much faster and almost all extensions work with it.

I also recommend Private Internet Acess.

2 addons I use that have been convenient for me in Chrome:
HoverZoom+ will show the full size of an image if you hover your cursor over a thumbnail or even an image link. So nice not having to open 10 separate tabs when you're viewing a gallery of thumbnails and want to look at each individual picture at full size.
Better History: I found myself needing to review my browsing history by date and time, this one organizes them very well, goes pretty far back and has a search function.

I also use PhaseExpress and/or ClipDiary for my clipboard history. Still can't believe that's not a feature in Windows yet, would be nice.

>they want money
nigger I could shit out a clipboard history tracker in 10 minutes :story:

I've never been bugged by PhaseExpress for anything more than updates. PhaseExpress also has a shit ton of other features that I don't use so I guess that's what the paid version's features focus on.

Though I'd obviously prefer to make one if I was capable.

Search Everything basically searches all of the files and shit on your PC in an instant, instead of Window’s File Explorer’s searchbox which takes a long-ass time depending on how many items you have in certain places or in your entire PC.

lol all linux distros are just the same shit with different packages added or removed. it's like trying to discern between sonichu characters

They pretty much are, most popular distros(the ones that actually people use and are supported) come today with systemd and pulseaudio, so your choice is usually which package manager you want to use.

ninite.com is great if you need a one-click solution for installing common free apps very quickly. It doesn't have the widest selection but it's still better than clicking through 8 different installers or walking your parents through the process of installing VLC and putting a shortcut on the desktop.
