In a lot of his stories he does makes allusions to people that disgust and/or scare him. This man seemed to show disdain for everyone in much the same way, from niggers to arabs to italians to fellow whiteys that weren't from a noble bloodline like he was.
Lesser known fact about him is that he also had a jewish wife with whom he was in good terms even though they ended up amicably divorcing. Also nigger-man was his grandfather's cat (or father's- I can't remember)

Buddy Holly glasses are a relatively cheap frame style that was common amongst the masses because of their affordability; combined with the fact that they are the standard "no frills" design you are forced to wear if you are in the military.

Their popularity tends to ebb and flow depending on musicians using them; Buddy Holly and Rivers Cuomo both are popular trend setters relating to their popularity with the youth in terms of people being copied by the masses who voluntarily wear them.

I don’t really remember that, but I’ll also admit I haven’t read every single one of his stories. I guess I do remember some sort of weird mystical ideas he had about African and South American people.
But really I hate how often it’s brought up when you hear about him, or as a reason to not read him. You can enjoy good things made by assholes. It doesn’t mean you endorse their ideas. There’s a reason he’s remembered pretty fondly, he made some cool/weird shit

I hate this mentality, it especially annoys me in Lovecraft's case because I love to play the armchair psychanalist and try to explore how he conveyed his paranoid phobias into genre-defining supernatural stories. I personally find it quite fascinating.

It's easier to pretend to care about a guy who died over 80 years ago being WACCIISSTT and trying to ruin it for other people who may be interested like anything these people touch they ruin it. These people need an actual personality
 
There's a lot of speculation that Lovecraft really was terrified of anything that wasn't white, Protestant, from Rhode Island, etc. Not 'hate', actual fear.

I honestly think he tried to acclimatize to it, because I can't imagine any other reason he would've moved to NYC during that time period, wife or not.

The blue blockers? Yeah, the kind of do, but I think it's a ymmv thing along with the quality of the coating. I have it on my prescription glasses and I've noticed a reduction in the number of headaches I get, but these are also all-the-time glasses. I don't know how helpful they are for people who only wear them when gaming.
