The woke of Current Year will claim that MLK was only saying the “content of their character” stuff to appease white moderates, who were apathetic to his ideas when he was alive. And they’ll claim/imply he was telling the absolute unvarnished truth when he wrote this letter from a Birmingham jail:

Emphasis mine - since those are the parts of it they quote the most incessantly. They ignore the words “almost” and “regrettable” since those aren’t convenient, and assume he just hated white people. For this reason and this alone, they like it a lot more than his “I Have A Dream” speech.

This is exactly the issue I have - "direct action." MLK's version was in very much the style of Gandhi (passive protest and resistance), but which is interpreted BLM/Antifa/SocJus/IdPol adherents as "We need to riot, burn everything down, assault everyone that disagrees, and foment a communistic revolution!"

If anything, despite his socialist leanings, MLK was the moderate in his definition of "direct action", because Malcom X, the Weather Underground, NLG, Antifa, BLM, and all the rest of the leftist "LARP-volutionaries" are interpreting it as Alinksy and his mentors did - active action against the system until it topples, with the intent of establishing a "Dictatorship of the Proletariat", which they unironically believe they'll be helping to steer.
