That's where their ideas fail. They assume all of society's ails come from class warfare and that everybody is going to follow the rules and be happy with them. They never account for corruption and some individuals being just plain shitty people.

Fuck, very few villains in Batman's rogues' gallery became villains because they were poor. Sure, a lot of them need money and material goods for some reason or another, but I'm not sure Dr. Victor Fries would be able to afford his cryo-suit (not to mention his wife's cryo-tube and all his research material) on UBI. Or even tenure. And I'm not sure he'd get a research grant either. By the time the red tape cleared, he'd be dead of hyperthermia and his wife would be a bleached skeleton inside the tube.

I don't really remember where I was going with this. But the point is, these idiots are small-minded, therefore they can only come up with small-minded solutions. If it had been so easy to fix society, we would have done it a long time ago.
