Which is why, as others have noted, they try to take over established characters and franchises and "improve" them or "update" them for "current year" by giving them an SJW makeover.
I don't know if it's driven by a desire to spite the racist/sexist comic book fans by getting rid of their pwecious toxic male and unrealistic female characters, a contemptuous belief that people in the red states are unintelligent sheep who will instantly jump on the troon wagon if IRON TRANS does it, or an honest belief that it is their destiny as woke artists to take the medium into the superior future, sales figures be damned.... but the results are predictable and distressing.

This is a symptom of the way comic books have been for a while, if you ask me.
It's not like the SJWs came out of nowhere and immediately started to infest comic books like boll weevils. The way comics were before that provided a fertile ground for this to happen.

How many races has Galatus anihilated? Say what you want about Transformers but at least they're aware of the moral implications of Unicron I don't think anyone should give a shit how galactus speaks since the most pertinant question is "is he going to try and kill us all?"
Their's no reason a trans hero couldnt be big hit with the universe, the problem is Marvel can't/won't do the groundwork. Building up a superhero franchise takes years, patience, good writters and a lot of dumb luck. Marvel hasnt been able to deliberatly cultivate a new hero in decades (deadpool was an accident).
They've had some luck with established characters who are either legacy (ms marvel being muslim-although that will go to shit once they loose Sana Amanat) or minor (iceman coming out) but in the end if they want to have an actual trans superhero they're going to have to seed a lot of them now and fucking wait to see which ones catch like they did with black superheroes.
