When people share too much we call it "powerleveling", named after dragon ball z. But IQ is really the closest thing there is because it's literally sperging that you are better and will win because you have a higher number.

I think we should use a different test's results as our internet dick size. Maybe an STD exam or something.

I'm not reading all this shit but I did a thread search and I'm very disappointed that nobody's tagged in @Hortator , the resident 250+ IQ genius of Kiwi Farms.

Also lol @Hortator you still don't see the irony in spending hundreds of dollars in membership to a club full of insufferable faggots because you think it makes you look smart when all it does is make you look hundreds of dollars stupider.

I've literally met cats and dogs smarter than @Hortator because cats and dogs aren't retarded enough to pay real money for a hollow sense of elitism like some kind of irl Something Awful poster.

I find it pretty funny that these "smart guys" keep sperging about their IQs- that's not what it's supposed to measure. IQ isn't a metric of how smart you are- it's a means of establishing normal intelligence and how far off a person is from it. The chart goes something like this:

0-20 Profound intellectual disability
20-35 Severe intellectual disability
35-50 Moderate intellectual disability
50-70 Mild intellectual disability
70-80 Borderline intellectual disability
80-90 Low Normal
90-110 Normal
110-120 High Normal
120-140 Gifted
140+ Genius

85% of the adult population is (theoretically) within +/- 15% of 100, and less than 1% have an IQ below 20 or above 140. IQ tests are also notoriously bad at identifying outliers, be they the extremely intelligent or the extremely disabled.

The practical application of it really amounts to streaming in education. If you put kids who will never understand literature or calculus in those classes, they'll drop out. Put them in a cooking class and teach them math for everyday life and some concrete skills and they'll become functional members of society

Similarly, if you have a kid that's way ahead of the rest of the class, trying to hold them back will make them bored, resentful and preform under their potential. Give them more advanced concepts to keep them engaged and they flourish.

It is also to be noted that the test's results and evaluation criteria can be easily altered to reflect pre-established bias or to veer into a more favourable result.
Textbook examples are the tests' results regarding the Nazis at the Nuremberg Trials in 1946 and in Anders Brevik's trial in 2012. There's reason to believe that their IQs have been intentionally beefed up to deflect any insanity and/or scarse coscience (i.e. did not know what they were doing) pleas and to increase their criminal indictment, both with the public and the jury.

Aside from the fact that this was already so wonderfully debunked, I love the part about the other students asking him to teach the class. Just... No.
There might be one or two people who would say, "You should totally be a teacher," but most of these people are going to school to get a degree or a certificate. The school's not going to give anyone a passing grade because they hung out at Idiot McGee's house. No one smart enough to attend college would be stupid enough to try to attend class in some moron's living room.

*Insert diploma mill joke here.*

My favorite subset of these people are the ones who insist they know more about a creative work than the creator themselves. I recall when Five Nights at Freddie's was popular, some dude made a video saying the last game in the series was "wrong" because it didn't conform to his theories about it. He was told that the series is whatever the author says it is, and got BTFO.

You should never claim to be an expert on anything as stupid as FNAF. People that act like deconstructing the storyline of a jump scare game for kids is some form of highbrow critique need to get their heads examined. Your headcanon isn't canon. That's what fanfiction is for. That guy's probably got a fredsona or whatever their call their horrible OCs.

There's so many fandoms full of guys like this. They literally think they are the undisputed experts and the creator is wrong the second they don't do exactly what these crazy fans expect.

That class' name? Albert Einstein.
All this is missing is the entire class giving him a standing ovation.

There's always someone taking art history because they think it gives them highbrow cred. Knowing some stuff about paintings doesn't make you smart. He's obviously lying about everything. But even if he knew one factoid that the professor got wrong that does not make him a professional art historian qualified to teach students.

They wouldn't suspend anyone for being mistaken during a lecture either. If he got thrown out of class it was probably for being disruptive. Most likely he's failing and seldom shows up (look at the reply) and he's trying to formulate an excuse for dropping the class or flunking it that makes him look cool. then he can take girls to the art museum and try to impress them by pretending he knows stuff. He's like a real life Brian Griffin.

I lost a friend to this. He was never the smartest person but always studied hard trying to get better grades but was never at the top of our classes growing up. Than college hit, he became an insufferable hipster than basically decided he needed to talk down to everyone and break out a thesarus for every fucking conversation. I made fun of him the last time we spoke that he spent 4 years in college to become a giant faggot. Didnt get an invite to the wedding for some reason....

An IQ of 121 is still pretty high, most psychologists agree that basically anything is possible with some motivation above 110
In the past, it was more of a factor, but in this time, with all human knowledge at one's fingertips, memorizing things isn't needed. Knowing how to find the info you need is more important.

IQ (dispite memory being a factor) deal more with critical, logical and spacial reasoning. So you could memorise everything in the world.but you wouldn't be able to do fuck all if you had no ability to apply the knowledge

This was on the front page of /r/iamverysmart. It's a convo between the poster and his little brother who's a college freshman.

A truly smart person can say what they need to in as few words as possible, to get straight to the point and move on. Anyone who insists in drawing out their words and sentences as long as that are clearly compensating for something.
