I’ve spoken to people who have actually met banksky and pretty much everyone agrees that he is alright but is genuinely an asshole who teases the public with his stupid stunts to tease his identity. Eg, standing at the top of ‘Dismaland’ just to get in the news.

This may be late, but fine. I saw this and immediately thought of his constant tripes on New Years Day, or his eclipse nonsense, the leap year remark, the 'hope' remark and his constant "ACKSHUALLY" comments. Yet here he is...wearing a full brimmed hat. Indoors. The man is wearing an article of clothing that is *ackshually* designed to keep sun and precipitation off of your head in a place where there is neither. Just struck me how especially unaware he is of his own dickitude.

Also, I've seen Tyson compared to other pop culture icons, but to me, he's the Dr. Oz of the scientific community. All about the popz, baby.

Those kinda people who always have to let you know what their measured IQ is tend to bit dumb imho. Intelligence to me seems like attribute that is only relevant in your life if you can actually apply it to something. Be it book smarts, street smarts, whatever. You know those guys who actually put themselves in and do shit instead of jacking off to IQ scores? They're smarter than euphoric Rick and Morty fans in my books.

It's also funny trend that they don't go for research or academic work, have anything scientifical merits in their name, or have even general inkling of idea of how research becomes part of scientific theory. But they still know they're better academics than people actually doing that shit - must be true since they once got paper that said they're really smart and special.
 
In reality unless your actually retarded, IQ doesn't mean jack shit. I've seen students who barely pass average on an IQ test go on to have careers in academia, and people who qualify for MENSA drop out after one semester

But then we might be getting into the territory of facebook spam quizzes, or just facebook users themselves. Both are potentially deserving of threads.

After Einstein retired he'd still go into the Institute, pretty much to just watch Gödel work. He was kind of in awe of his friend's intellect. There's a level of humility that sets smart people above Smart people.

Hawking also made his name making the difficult understandable to some level for normal people. The exact opposite of these douchebags. And he is a total manwhore, which is pretty cool.
