Hair was the breaking point actually. I also avoided taking pics of myself frequently and deluded myself about my looks to cope. But I couldn't cope with my hair at that point in time. I was NW2 at 18.

I am ugly, depressed and poor, but at least I'm not ugly, depressed, STRESSED (university study), still poor in 2nd year university, hyper self-conscious and even more suicidal being around good looking jocks and doing the daily >1 hour train grind to get to university, etc.

Do you really care that much about depression, or are you pretending to in an attempt to win an argument? On the internet.
Shit, I've struggled with depression, and I can say that having also done it at times that running away from difficult situation doesn't help at all.
