Speaking of Melty Blood, I was surprised when that one character sorta became a meme. I always assumed that Melty Blood was pretty obscure.

It's Kinuko and someone named Fran who I don't exactly remember her role at Lab 0 but has had about as much power inside the company as Mariel and Fran was friends with Mike before Skullgirls conception iirc. They are the two that are directly being sued by MikeZ/Lab 0 since they're the ones that were directly conspiring to put Mike under the bus.

Skullgirls came out in 2012. Steam port in 2013. Marvel 3 and Ultimate Marvel 3 came out in 2011 and had a more than robust tourney scene for many years and still has a niche tourney market to this day. Skullgirls never once filled the void. If people wanted Mahvel Baby they could fucking play it. Skullgirls has always been that "weird anime fighter" that only faggots/weaboos/degenerates play like Melty Blood and Under Night in Birth. Exactly. I actually go to my local and the only people I've ever seen play Skullgirls is a random anime player and troons, and even then not terribly often.

Thank god a lot of these freaks only really come out when a new anime game drops. The smell would be unbearable otherwise.
 
I am making another post about people that SG team has hired that further cements the fact SG staff
shouldn't be throwing stones from glass houses, but in the meantime..

Skullgirls is back at EVO with a mere 5000$ prize pool,
this could explain SG's sudden decision to remove all the "problematic" elements from their game.

I don't know who this Pokimane is, but was Evo (and the audience that comes with it) the driving force for the redisgns in MK11? That's the only reason that I can think of for why that happened.

And now the quest for EVO recognition strikes again apparently.


Also, anyone else think a 5K prize pool sounds pretty lame compared to other things that get featured at EVO?
