Wake up
Go to work
Come home
Step into shower
Grab cheap bottle of Old Spice body wash
Pour glob into hand
Work into lather in hair
Smear it everywhere else
Rinse unless excessively dirty in which case there's a bar of soap and a washrag to scrub down with before rinsing.

Now if I got some extra cash, I might get a fancy bottle of shae butter coconut body scrub and use it instead of the Old Spice but that hardly counts as a routine.

in my late teens i tried sugaring. i think i just mostly sucked at making the wax, but i felt like it was more trouble than it was worth. i was intrigued by the "natural" aspect and the notion of less pain, but it was a pain in the ass enough for me to not care and i ended up having better success with a hard wax from sally's. with that being said, i know you can easily order soft/hard sugar wax nowadays, but i haven't tried it.

epilating is less of a hassle imo. i epilate while watching netflix at this point. admittedly, i initially had issues with ingrown hairs, but i attribute that to my impatient ass not making sure i was doing it properly + coarse black people hair. now i make sure to exfoliate with acids after epilating to make sure my skin stays smooth. @one_time_user is the ultimate mvp when it comes to smooth, hairless kiwis.

Had that problem too, it was always too hot and never got any hair off. Not to mention my stove takes forever to do anything as simple as boiling.

Also, any epilator recommendations? might put one on my Christmas list.

So ummmm I used a serum for the first time. About a day later, my entire face is now destroyed lol. I'm scared, what do? It's not peeling it's... I don't know how to describe what it's doing but this seems very wrong and is painful. Imagine every single pore on your face trying to break out at the same time.

This shit is called Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

edit: I googled and it's probably hives. But it's pretty fucking bad :cryblood:

Leave your skin ALONE until it goes down, like just use water on your face twice a day. That fucking sucks dude.

oh no, i'm sorry! keep your skin moisturized and maybe take an antihistamine. aloe or a cold washcloth can help calm your skin down too.

i've never used nor heard of that serum, but maybe you're allergic to the viniferine? i don't see any other ingredients that could be the culprit, unless you're sensitive to fragrance. i hope it was a sample though, that's an expensive product to have to discontinue immediately.

I'm going to try using it up on my hands lol. I mean later, after these hives(?) go away.

I don't really think of myself as having sensitive skin but who knows. It's rare for me to break out from a product much less have my face go full Freddy Kruger. This hurts and is v. disturbing frankly. I learned my lesson I'll do more research next time!

I am a beast with my skin but sometimes I try something altogether new (vs just a different version of something I have used before) and when I remember I test the product on my inner forearm, along my jawline and weirdly, on my knuckles (because they get cracked skin the easiest). I hope you feel better soon! I also hope you're working from home ;)

I really enjoy using Cetaphil's gentle skin cleansers and moisturizers. After cleaning my skin I use Elf's fruit acid toner, Sweet Chef's ginger vitamin c shot. A few times throughout the week I also use my Pixi skin treats glow toner. I have some dark skin issues due to using oral birth control so I use this super creamy fade cream called Nadinola.
When I'm having issues with my acne I stand by using might patch acne stickers and Neutrogena's on-the-spot acne treatment.
Always use sunscreen!!

i try to use up products that i don't care for/smell funky on my feet lol.

patch testing is definitely a good idea! i'm reckless so i never do (especially right now, nobody can see me fuck my face up), but maybe try that next time you get a new product just to be safe. i promise serums usually don't make your face angry! what are your skin concerns, or what do you want to improve?

oh no! i’ve just started using that myself. so sorry to hear. i sometimes take a small dose of ibuprofen for inflamed skin and it seems to help. agree with leaving your skin completely alone for a few days except for water.

I use a sensitive skin bubble wash for my face... And a wealth of moisturizers as well.

I hate that there isn't much stuff for guys, everything smells feminine
as much as i miss the smell of rose-scented stuff, none of my skincare products have fragrance anymore. a lot of the "girly" smelling stuff is crap anyway, and you can end up developing an allergy to fragrance if you constantly use scented stuff. it's not a sure thing of course, but i avoid it as much as i can.

cerave, cetaphil, aveeno, neutrogena, and vanicream are all fragrance-free (or carry "sensitive" formulas that are fragrance-free) and have some really nice drugstore options.

My skin is constantly oily, and it's grossing me out, but around this time of year I also start getting dry flaky skin on my face. I am also getting gross acne breakouts.

Please help me and tell me what to use on my retarded face.

Twinks, all the others have given the very best and sagest advice. Antihistamines are your friend, oil-free moisturiser for a beat (I'm super prone to reactions and my derm always swears by staying away from oils mid-flare).

But that Caudalie serum, from memory a lot of their products are grape based i.e. resveratrol. I've been working with an immunologist on some health stuff and people with my immune type do not handle resveratrol well at all. Like at all at all. It's not specifically an allergy (it may well be in your case, idk). So if you're prone to histamine reactions (allergies, asthma, eczema) I'd be inclined to avoid resveratrol like the plague.

I used to love the Caudalie beauty elixir... until I realised it was just totally fucking my acid mantle and was the reason my eczema would flare 'out of nowhere'. Beautiful company if you can handle the ingredients.
the nice lady at sephora who hustled me into the caudalie holiday box set (such a value!!1!) stressed that everything was made from grapes/grape extract and natural extracts etc so wouldn’t have the artificial fragrance that many products seem to do (i get a stuffy nose just walking down the detergent aisle at target lol). she is correct on that front; whether it “evens out my skin tone over time” i have yet to see.

i would love to know more about the immune types thing you mentioned if you can point a gorl toward further reading. trying to get my life right.
