Ooo, I love this thread. :autism: ahead.

AM:
  • clean face with water + washcloth
  • Apply sunscreen to face (Cosrx aloe soothing sun screen) and body (Australian Gold mineral sunscreen spf 50)
PM:
  • first cleanser: The Face Shop rice water bright light cleansing oil
  • second cleanser: Cosrx low pH cleanser OR The Face Shop rice water cleansing foam, depending on skin's needs that day (I use the Clarisonic mia2 for days where I feel grimy)
  • actives (twice a week each): Elizabecca retinol cream (wear as sleeping pack), Cosrx Whitehead Power Liquid (AHA)
  • toner: Nooni Dual Moisturizing toner
  • essence: Etude House Moistfull Collagen Essence
  • light moisturizer: Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion, Nature's Republic 92% aloe gel
  • heavy moisturizer: CreaVe lotion (this shit actually over-moisturizes unless it's a rough winter, in which case it's absolutely incredible)
  • sheet mask: twice a week, type/brand varies depending on my skin
  • sleeping pack: Etude House Bubble Tea Sleping pack. (These aren't particularly moisturizing, but they're cute and seal in previously applied products, which is all I want.)

My skin is sensitive to salicylic acid so I've been sticking with a simple washcloth with some Dove/Ivory soap since my teens up until recently. Now, chin and forehead are breaking out. I found out a lot of Japanese skin care products tend to steer away from salicylic acid unless you get something prescribed by a dermatologist, so I knew this would be a good place to start.
I'm using Senka Perfect Whip, it's an SLS-free foaming cleanser and it's been reducing my breakouts greatly.

So, right now I'm just looking for something that'll fade scars and tame my combination skin. I ordered Sana Nameraka Soymilk Isoflavone Toner for my hyper-pigmentation which has been ongoing for at least a decade, so hopefully it works. If not, my next plan is to try to find something with Vitamin C.

For me personally, GLAMGLOW’s SuperCleanse has gotten rid of a lot of stubborn acne that I’ve had for a while, especially on my cheeks.

Also, Pond’s Moistureizer has strangely been the one of only moisturizers that’s actually worked for me other than Origin’s White Tea Moisturizer with SPF 40 (I mostly used it for the sunscreen part when I visited Florida a few months ago) but the latter is pretty pricey.

Is Epiduo any good?
Personally, it really dried out my chin and made me look like I had a really bad sunburn on it but I think it depends on your skin type.

Edit:I had a whole disorganized thing here that made little sense so this is the same thing organized.

A.M.
wash with Say Yes tomato exfoliating face wash
Moisturize under eyes with Say Yes cucumber under eye cream.
Moisturize face/neck with cetophil SPF 50
P.M.
workout routine after I clock out at work, gets sweat to clear out my pores
Wash face in a warm shower after workout, same cleaner as morning
Moisturize with Burts Bees night cream before bed.

Sea salt mask once a week.
Sun screen on arms/legs/chest in summer Panama Jack's SPF 85.

Important non-product routines include drinking almost exclusively water, washing my sheets once a week, my diet, and my workout routine. Your skin is an organ, products will only do so much to keep it healthy. Fitness and environmental hygiene are vital.

AM:
- Aveeno Daily Moisturizer (15 SPF)
- Estee Lauder DayWear Protection blah blah blah (50 SPF)
- Maybeline BB Pure Cream (loveee this stuff, I use it like a foundation)
- Glossier Stretch Concealer

PM:
-Pacifica Kale Detox Cleanser
-nuPore Exfoliating Sponge (about 4 times weekly)
-Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair + its eye cream

Occasional:
-Boscia facial mask
-Shea Natural African Cleansing Mud Mask
-Say Yes to Grapefruit Deep Cleansing Mask

Any tips for rosacea or masking redness? The BB cream does a good job of that, but mixing it with the sunscreen sucks ass as it gets all oily and rubs off easy (maybe I just need to set it with a spray or powder, though).

Avoid alcohol, dairy, soy products, artificial sweetners and caffeine. Look for probiotic to encourage growth of beneficial bacteria in the small intestine.

After having my skin freak out from two major allergic reactions to medications (and potentially a third consisting of dry skin rather than hives), I'm trying to restart my routine from scratch and really target in on my issues (redness, massive pores).

So I've started with the most basic things just to let my face calm down. Once that happens who knows where I'll go but probably more in terms of Asian skincare

Morning and Night:
-Wash with Cerave Foaming Face Cleanser
-Moisturize with Cerave Moisturizing Cream (the tub)

I'm only a week in and my face is still red and inflamed with small bumps, but considering how it was a few weeks ago this is a god send. Next I'll be introducing a sun screen but first, I'm hoping to just let my skin chill out a bit more...

idk if your skin is also sensitive but mine is very & i've mostly sworn off of asian skincare because i am VERY allergic to a lot of them. i tried the face shop rice water cleanser a few weeks ago and it gave me what appeared to be a chemical burn on my face. unsure if you'd have that problem too because a lot of people do very well with them? just be careful :(

edit: typo oops

I'm hoping I'll do well, in the past I've used the Hada Lobo (?) Toner that everyone raves about as well as a couple things from mishiboxes in the past and I don't think it aggravated my skin but then again, who knows at this point. I'm trying to really slow down on introducing new products since my skin has never been where I want it :(

I just had my first dermaplaning session on Monday and I am kind of obsessed.

I manually exfoliate 3x a week so I assumed that it was going to be peach fuzz coming off. OMG there was so much dead skin. The aesthetician showed me the scalpel to see what was coming off: it was covered in sticky gray skin flakes and peach fuzz. Disgusting.

She put a calming oil? on after and I've just been washing my face with water the past two nights as to not irritate my skin. It still feels so soft and smooth.

I will need to learn to do it myself because it's $89/session. Too rich for my blood to do it frequently.

I am kind of lazy in that regard, also because I lack the funds - despite having really bad skin (inherited from my mother, she had skin like a teenager even in far in her 30-40ies). I have severe issues with blackheads, I'm trying to exfoliate but it seems like I am using the wrong products, I don't really know where to start. Currently I am using a cheap fruit acid peeling from the drugstore. I also mix crappy toner with tea tree oil.

At morning and before going to bed I wash my face with black African soup( dodu osun), have been doing that for half a year now. Often read people praising it, while my skin improved a little bit I'm not content, because these blackheads drive me crazy. I also mostly just moisturize with pure unrefinited Shea butter.

Anyone has an idea what else I could do?
Try mandelic acid toner/serum/peel. It's cost effective (compared to pricier things like lactic acid) and it deep cleans pores and makes blackheads easier to extract. Makeup Artists' Choice sells samples of all kinds of peels and toners for like $5.

Just shave your face once or twice a week, same results. Its one reason why men's faces age better than women's. Shaving is the very best exfoliation and helps prevent looking aged.
Like with a regular men's razor? Hmmm.

I'm guilty of it too. I got myself a nice mens razor and I shave maybe once every other week or so? Removing the peach fuzz helps the skin appear smoother as well and it makes makeup go on nicer

Blackheads are your pores clogging, I suggest a mild facial soap with exfoliating particles, also iirc there are products with nut shells or microparticles that really do wonders. Another option is the exfoliating Dove soap.

Also, i've had nice results with using an astringent (I've tried a soft citric fruits splash from Clinique or L'bel, can't recall), and washing my face with cold water to keep pores closed and avoid them clogging.

Last, try to look for non oily or less greasy moisturizing cream. I think you can get some from Oriflame.

re: DIY dermaplaning/peach fuzz removal, i prefer eyebrow razors like this (not sponsored but i wish, considering how many i go through). just make sure to moisturize afterwards.

What's a tried and tested way of getting rid of nose blackheads? Pore strips don't really seem to do the job for me.

Mandelic acid (toner and/or peels) and a manual comedone extractor.

The blackheads on my nose literally poured out of my skin after three days of using mandelic acid toner. It makes them really easy to extract and keeps them from coming back. My mother and husband both had similar results.
