I'm one of those incredibly lucky individuals who gets acne, um. Everywhere. Chest, shoulders, back, all the fun places. So I'm starting to look into body washes that target these issues specifially--which I didn't even know existed until recently because I'm a dummy and just assumed I was a hormonal freak of nature destined to have the skin of a teenage boy 5ever.

Anyone have good luck with this? Or this?

Anything with salicylic acid should be good for acne. The Neutrogena one does contain but you can actually just get a salicylic soap (for your body, too harsh for face). I use this on my arse which is prone to blemishes due to it's constant imprisonment in thick black tights.

I started getting cystic acne a couple of years ago, despite going through puberty blessedly untouched by spots despite my tendency to sleep in last nights terrible emo eyeliner. My sister ended up taking accutane for hers but I've managed to get my (admittedly milder) case under control with good skincare and my face is very clear these days. I've switched to a tinted moisturiser in the day.

On my face I double cleanse with Body Shop Chamomile cleansing butter to remove make-up, and then Burt's Bees Anti-Blemish gel cleanser (which contains sal acid) with a hot flannel.
I then alternate nightly between applying The Ordinary 2% salicylic acid, followed by a hydrating serum and a Vitamin E night mask with a hyaluaronic acid eye-cream. Or a hydrating serum followed by The Ordinary 23% Vitamin C suspension. You really do need to put the hydrating (including hyaluaronic acid) serum down first or this stings like a motherfucker. It's not very pleasant to use but has really helped with hyperpigmentation.

Oh and a SPF everyday. At the moment I'm using Hawaiian Tropic silky hydration SPF 30, but I go to 50 in summer cause I'm *powerlevel* naturally ginger.

Very good to know!! I actually ordered the tea tree oil wash before I saw your post--though with it I did also order a charcoal + salicylic acid face wash that I'm sure I could also use for my chest etc. in the shower--but the soap bar also looks very promising and something I'll keep in mind if the tea tree oil isn't strong enough (I didn't want to start with something very harsh, because I am sensitive and dry everywhere that isn't my face and upper body).

I'll need to keep SPF in mind, too. I'm basically a vampire--Mediterranean genes, so not "fair" in the real sense, but I am quite pale and burn easily in the summer (when the sun is worst here).

I also grabbed a jar of grocery store coconut oil and started double-cleansing with that at night recently. It's definitely started helping with the dry patches I get, and I think my skin looks healthier for it, too.

I have the oiliest, yet driest skin ever, so I have just embraced the shine from lotion. I don't even bother with face makeup since my skin takes it as a challenge. I, however, have found an effective defense against my disgusting combination skin's massive breakouts.

In the morning:
-dead sea salt and kale face wash from Target in the shower
-cerave eye replenishing cream under eyes
-vitamin e oil under my eyes
-coconut oil cream under my eyes
-cerave moisturizing face cream for face and neck
- vanicream moisturizing lotion on my face and neck
-neutrogena face sunscreen

Night:
Same products except for the sunscreen.

Once a week or more: either the dead sea mud mask or my rose/apricot mask.

Taking care of my skin is still a rather new thing to me. I wish I had discovered the wonders of moisturizers in high school :(

You might be oily and dehydrated. You can be both at once, dehydrated is when skin has difficulty holding water. If your skin feels comfortable and looks plump and nice when you just get out the shower it's probably dehydrated and in need of products with hyaularonic acid (not at all as scary as it sounds it's just a clever molecule that can hold 1000x it's weight in water).

I'm willing to try anything at this point. Thank you!

You should go with jojoba oil rather than the coconut one, the latter clog pores and is pretty comedogenic.
And drink ton of water obviously.

I've been trying to find a good, cost-effective body lotion in the drugstore for a while. I got 20 oz of Curel Ultra Healing Intensive Lotion for only 6 dollars. It has ceramides and shit. I can't recall ever feeling this smooth so I'd highly recommend it.

I know body lotions in the drugstore usually come in large bottles, but for me it still feels like so much money to spend upfront, so from now on I'm only going to buy things if they have a coupon on the Target app (which is pretty cool), or if it's on sale on its own. I just hate spending money on things I'm putting on my body. I'm all about the face skin.

I use Gold Bond Healing Lotion. Since my skin is so sensitive that I break out in hives if I use anything with a strong perfume on my face, I have to use unscented lotions. Anywhere else on my body, scented lotions are fine. It's fucking weird. And since I have GvHD, any breakout I have is backed with the full force of my immune system, so I have to choke down Benadryl and drown my face in cool water to not feel like I headbutted a wasps' nest that was on fire.

My routine is just basically moisturising whenever I can and especially after washing my hands. I have super dry skin.

Aveeno is my best friend.

I use raw shea butter on my skin after showering and it seems to lock in moisture really well. I have horribly dry skin that I'm in constant battle against, so shea butter, bag balm, and cocoa butter have been my best go-to products for years.

The winter is the worst for my skin.
So dry.... So cold...
I just moved to a cold, snowy place for the first time in my life. My skin has been awful since. More acne, then tried using a benzoyl peroxide cleanser to help. In two days, my face was puffy, sore, dry, and red.

I've lived in the Northern states all my life. Yeah, it's pretty nasty here. It's always really important to use lotion and drink water to keep your skin from drying out.

Hempz body lotion is the shit, and available in many nice scents.

I am super picky about lotion but Hempz is excellent. Not even other hemp based lotions are as good.

Moved to the desert. So we got a Kiehl’s store and they’re known for their shaving and other products, decided to give it a try. Usually use MAC and Cetaphil. (Powerlevel=middle aged.). So I go in and they do their spiel and say, “we’re going to test for the oiliness of your skin with this” and they rub this dipstick thing on my face. Look at it. Guy says, “this one may not be working, let’s try another.” They did. I have absolutely no oil on my face. Everyone loses their mind including me — so I have a good morning and night regimen from them which is amazingly not breaking me out even though part of it involves direct application of oil. I am a fan of Kiehl’s now.

That gloves in a bottle type lotion keeps moisture from leaking out of your skin (there's a few brands, it doesn't really moisturize it just makes a thin barrier that won't wash out easily). I was moisturizing several times an hour and my hands would still bleed until I added that stuff.
