Since I’m getting a little older (and feeling bad about it), I decided I wanted to invest a little into my face. Was looking for places that did CO2 laser resurfacing, but when I met with the nurse at the clinic, she talked me down to trying a Halo laser treatment instead.

So, I had that done today. My face feels crunchy and tight and I don’t want to touch it—it’s still raw at a level beyond “the worst sunburn of my life.” I’m not too worried about the condition right now because I usually heal well and I’m very carefully following aftercare instructions, but I’ve read some mixed reviews for the procedure from folks who say it’s not worth the money. Has anyone else had this or something similar done?

Does anybody have a recommendation for a product that helps curb excess oil on the T-Zone without clogging pores?
Ever since I finished my Clinique "pore refining solutions stay-matte hydrator" I haven't been able to find a reliable replacement.
I've tried various products the only one that comes close is Benefit's "the pore professional matte primer" but unfortunately it does not last nearly as long and clogs my pores sometimes.
Anyone have suggestions?

I got bumps on my forehead and the skin is thinner up there. I think it's closed comedones. What do?

Reporting back like 2 years later. Turns out the rosacea was caused by short intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), took a course of targeted antibiotics and was back to normal. If you're having similar issues where topical interventions don't really work much it might be worth bringing up to your derm.

The night moisturiser that I’ve been using for years is no longer available in the EU, can anyone recommend one that’s very heavy/oil based and without actives like retinol or vitamin c? Preferably under €30, but I’ll stretch that to €50 if I can nurse a jar for 6 months.

Anyone have any advice when it comes to milia? been getting a lot more recently and is the only way to get rid of them to extract them? What about products to prevent them?

So, I bought a 32-pack of Korean sheet masks from the brand DERMAL during the Amazon Cyber Monday sale. Does anyone have any experience using this brand?

OT, I don't know if I skipped over seeing it, or I'm blind as a bat (very good possibility), but is there a thread strictly for makeup?

I follow some of the makeup topics on reddit, but those are getting to be unreadable.
If you mention you use a certain brand, someone pops up to say the brand is right-leaning and supports Trump, ie Estee Lauder. Or the brand isn't vegan, or something else. Which they then declare you a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic asshole.

I just want to discuss makeup with sane, normal people, and not be bitched at for the brands I use.

Are there any practical moisturizers that don't increase the propensity to sweat? I find applying retinol overnight has done wonders for my skin and try to help it along with a vitamin C serum in the morning, but even that (let alone a lanolin based moisturizer) makes any exercise than gets the old heart rate up rather uncomfortable. I refuse to walk anywhere at anything except my maximum walking pace however.

I do apply aloe vera lotion after shaving, but the effects don't seem to last particularly long.

Does anyone else pick their acne and end up looking like a retarded meth head or is it just me
Leave it to me to turn a harmless pimple into a large gaping wound on my face. I look like a deranged schizo every time it happens
Lancet (the disposable ones for diabetics) + pimple patches + extractor broke me of the habit of fucking with them too much. Star
Face brand are stupidly expensive but you can get the cute patches from a different brand for cheap off Amazon.

It's a shame this thread isn't a little more active, skincare is a really fun topic as everyone is so different.

Personally, I find niacinamide breaks me out. I've been using the Garnier Vitamin C Serum with 4% Niacinamide every morning for a few weeks and have been getting persistent break outs, a rarity for me. I've stopped using it a couple of days ago and my skin already looks better despite being close to my period, a prime breakout time. It sucks because niacinamide is in everything. I was planning on a K Beauty splurge but had to rethink given how common it is in those products, including retinal and sunscreen.

Does anyone else have an oft lauded ingredient that didn't work for them? Or perhaps a holy grail product? For me I had the best skin of my life double moisturising with CosRx Snail Mucus (which cleared up my acne scars) with their Rice Nourishing Bath and Beauty of Joseon sunscreen for sun protection.

Or perhaps a holy grail product?
0.1% tretinoin, 0.3% hyaluronic acid, 4% hydroquinone. It’s the ultimate cream to keep your skin young and healthy, but you need to get it specially formulated by a pharmacist on prescription against acne, since it includes ingredients that actually work. Basically you need to find a good doctor first.

Is it definitely the niacinamide and not the Vitamin C? During my last pregnancy I had to stop using my Vitamin C moisturiser as I had started to react badly to it despite using it daily with no issues before my hormonal changes. I avoided using anything with niacinamide too as my skin was so sensitive, I just resigned myself to having awful skin. Eventually I couldn't stand looking so blotchy and haggard (the "pregnancy glow" skipped me entirely) and I tried The Ordinary's niacinamide and zinc serum, the next morning my skin looked clearer than it had in months.
I also replaced my Vit C moisturiser with Ongredients Skin Barrier Calming Lotion and it really did help calm my very red and sensitive skin, I'll be buying more when I eventually run out (a little goes a long way).

It's possible, but I've used other Vitamin C serums before and have never had an issue. I've never heard of someone reacting badly to Vitamin C, but it does go to show how different everyone's skin is.
