I'm asking more of a general question than my own specific case.
e.g.
  • Men who don't wear any makeup or moisturizer still have different skin than women do, even if women do the same thing
  • Some people don't shower every day, so they may not wash their face every day (maybe a splash of water)
  • Nopoo/Nosoap people
I only use hippy-dippy soap and it's worked well for me personally. I used to use only like, Dove, but I went more hippy over the years and that's worked even better than the store-bought stuff.
Oh, okay. Yeah men can probably use soap. Their skin has more oils, so it's less sensitive. I don't shower every day, wash my hair even less often, and use a cleansing conditioner instead of shampoo because my hair is curly and needs all the moisture it can get, my sensitivity to drying products is definitely way above average. For example I can't use dry shampoo more than once a week unless I want to utterly ruin my hair. It depends on the person. If your skin is naturally oily or you get body odour fast, you probably can use soap. That includes men. If you're naturally dry or sensitive, you need to be careful and not use more product than necessary. Especially you don't want to damage your skin barrier.

I think most men either wash their face with bodywash or not at all. My man uses my face wash (it runs out really fast when he's at home), and I think his skin looks healthier, but it's not like I've done a study on it. I still think bodywash+facewash is the way to go. It looks like more products than just soap, but since facewash is so much gentler it's actually less harsh chemicals. Consider me absolutely not a fan of those 3-in-one bodywash-shampoo-conditioner things. Just like hair and body need different washes, I think face and body also deserve different, since the skin is so sensitive there. Body skin is twice as thick as face skin.

Is facewash a product or just what you do in the shower? Also is sunscreen even nessesary if ones lives outside traditional vacation countries?(Russia, Bongland, Nederlands, etc)
It's not advisable to wash your face while in the shower as the temperature of water you use on your body is higher than you need on your face.

It's also a good idea to apply a toner after cleansing and before moisturizer as cleansers tend to be be alkaline (and therefore drying) and can cause you to break out.

On the topic of sunscreen, all daylight can cause aging. UVB rays (needed for vitamin D) are short and damage the topmost layer and give you a sunburn. UVA rays are longer and penetrate the lower layers of the skin which leads to aging. If you want to prevent this from happening, try to get a sunscreen which contains either zinc or titanium oxides because although they leave a whitish cast to the skin, they prevent the UVA rays from penetrating your skin at all, chemical sunscreens soak in and reflect the sunlight away from within your skin.

Hydration serum is so annoyingly expensive. It's at the very least triple the price of all the other products I use, and I'm not even buying the top of the line $80 for a tiny bottle ones. I wish there was some kind of alternative as it really is the best thing for dry skin by a landslide (at least for me). If you could buy it in a bigger bottle it'd at least be a bit less infuriating.

If anyone can enlighten me of a better value product that'd be bliss.

This might be what you are looking for. It's one of my favorite skincare products and does a lot for my dry skin. It's $16 for a small bottle on amazon atm.

I use this stuff and it's pretty reasonably priced: https://theordinary.com/en-us/hyaluronic-acid-2-b5-serum-100425.html
I have noticed a difference in the hydration and my skin is really dry.

I have these weird little bumps on my forehead that go all the way up to the hairline. They’re invisible most of the time, but become red when exposed to heat, especially when I get out of the shower. They stay red for ~30-60 mins after. Any idea what this could be/what I can do? I saw a derm and got some epiduo forte, but my skin is way too sensitive for it. I’m going to ask for a milder retinol and see if that helps, but this shit is extremely annoying.

I use a benzoyl peroxide 10% face wash 2x/day and a moisturizer at night. I got some chemical peel as well but haven’t used it yet. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe it’s from some hair products you’re using in shower?

Thank you both! Will give them a go and see if it's as effective. Hopefully can switch to one and not have to pay out the ass for my face to not crumble off ;)

My forehead is wrankly from being expressive with my eyebrows all my life. What do?
For expression lines the only thing that'll really touch them is botox.

Of all the signs of aging, I think expression lines are the one that actually looks fine and you don't need to do anything about them. You get them from laughing, you get them from smiling, you get them from being animated. The stories of our lives are written in our skin that way, it's okay to let it tell yours.

I actually kind of like them if I'm being honest. I've got wrinkles, but they make me look like when I'm old-old I'll look like a witch from a storybook, not like, say, my aunt.

I could use an opinion or experience here...
So I have a lot of skincare devices. Like, a lot-lot.
Lately I've been looking around for a full face LED mask (Have 5 different ones already), but I'm trying to find something that has something "extra". Like massage (Have like 3 difference eye-area massagers I think?), microcurrent (2 different kinds) or heat (Have one for relaxing the eye-area). I guess, something like those LED-ufo type devices (Have 3) with light, vibration and cold/heat, just in a full face mask form.
Now, I have been looking around, but so far I only found one I would trust: Therabody has made a face mask with massage and LED light, just the basic red and blue, but still good enough.
I have found a few options that have heat and light, or microcurrent and light, but they are all, well, from Temu or some other Chinese crap type weird Engrish-type brand names.
Anyone with experience with masks like that? Any recommendations?

I know this is a bit of a necro, but I made a post about a new skincare brand made by some Youtubers and I wanted to see what the ladies on BP had to say about it.

It's probably fine, lavender oil can be an irritant but otherwise the ingredients list doesn't look terrible. Lol at the price though, you can get a Dermalogica cream for less money per ml.

Get a treatment with Isotretinoin (DON'T GET PREGNANT WHILE USING IT!) and do CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing once a year.
Why isotretinoin specifically and not just a regular tretinoin skin cream? The side effects of the former seem way too much just to fix acne and some blemishes.

It’s kind of weird but I reacted very badly to over the counter retinol cream, but a prescription tretinoin cream has worked fine.

Because I have experience with lots of them and none of them worked for me, some of them also made my skin hurt and itch. My dermatologist also told me I have to use them for years and I noped out and went to another doctor and got a prescription for Isotretinoin and I was acne free in like 6 or 7 months. The only side effect I experienced were dry lips. The first doctor even told me about Isotretinoin and how great it works but never gave it to me despite the creams not working.

Isotetrinoin is the only thing that saved me when I was a teen. I experienced suicidal thoughts, dry lips and dry eyes but it was 100% worth it.
