Because that's how far their scope goes when it comes to life. A lot of these guys love kids' cartoons/games/comics/etc but lack actual experience out in the big wide world, so when they become exposed to topics like political activism they don't know how to approach it right and resort to expressing their opinions through media meant for children.

it has the same sort of energy as the drawings you see of Mario or MLP characters mourning 9/11 only much more active aggressive and preachy.

I recognised those eyelashes almost immediately. The girl's super degenerate (in fact I think she's been brought up in some discussions here a year ago) and was a mega autist when it came to Earthbound and particularly Mother 3. She was one of those psychos yaoi fangirls who shipped Claus and Porky Minch in his old man form as a BDSM couple - which is par for the course for most Claus/Old Porky shippers.

Oh yeah. The Claus/Old Porky ship was a big deal at one point - less because of its controversial nature and more so because the girls who liked it policed websites heavily for posts that dared to say anything bad about the ship. Before everything truly went to shit it was kind of a in-joke in the Earthbound fandom warning about the swarms of fangirls that would descend whenever someone made a post saying that Porky isn't a broken, jaded bad boy but rather a massive manchild who deserved everything he got.

To the majority of those people you're only gay or anything else if you plaster yourself with colour-vomit flags and revolve your whole personality, identity, and life around this singular aspect of yours.

Tbh I wish they would do original stuff instead of always taking something preexisting and mutating it until it's (in most cases) unrecognisable. But the majority isn't creative enough and much too self-absorbed to achieve something decent.
