BONUS FUN: Tumblr has lost approximately 14 million users according to Alexa's aggregate statistics. In 2014, they had over 49 million users; that number has been in a free-fall plummet and they're down to just under 35 million as we speak.
Considering trans character being thrown aside for head-canons on non-trans characters, it does drive the point of trying to justify some fan-fic tiered crap no one else cares about. As for loss of users, considering how it dropped from 49 to 35 million, it may be a matter of time before they probably move to another website, though I could just be optimistic on that part.
You happen to have a link to his website so we can take a look?
And here's something from Repair Her Armor, althought it appears that the cleavage was just erased. Note that the "fixed" version is on top, I mistakened the bottom picture as being the "fixed" one, which made her look like she had hairy legs as a "fix".

This is the dude's deviantart. I was going to post some of the all grown up pictures, at least until kiwifarms started acting up. If someone could post them for me I would really appreciate it
Here are the images for reference. How come I can insert these ones without problems?
The fixed images thighs freaked me out till I realized it was supposed to be pants. I love how bisexualzuko(really?) brags about how it only took ten minutes to make that like it's a good thing. For how little the change was it should have taken like 2 minutes, I mean bisexualzuko didn't even shade anything. What was she doing for those 8 extra minutes?
Dunno if this is related, but remember that movie where the main character was trans, and every Tumblrina threw a tantrum and possibly boycotted the movie because the actor wasn't trans?
He doesn't really draw a lot of buff dudes. He usually just turns everyone into a generic hipster.
I had just have to post this picture. Like seriously dude? Princess Morbucks is bratty, but she isn't homicidal. View attachment 40949
Just because she's a super villain doesn't mean she would kill people.
I was going to post more pictures but I can't upload them for some reason. Something about the name of the file not matching the contents?
Yeah I know, I already posted that picture in the thread a couple of pages ago. I personally don't like most of them, with the exception of his Him drawing (which is fucking awesome), the Mojo Jojo drawing is also pretty cool. It's just that I find it a little disconcerting to see a little girl murding people. Especially since it's kind of out of character for Princess Morbucks.

It's kinda funny really, it's pretty easy to tell between a "good" redesign and a "bad" redesign. Not so much good or bad as to how it looks overall but more towards "why"? Generally they're done to either fit the mood better, make a team of characters more distinct, just make them easier to draw, give a returning character an overhaul to suit a changed art style or just imply more about their character. Or just generally make them look more cute and appealing. In other words, it's done with a practical purpose.
With the "bad", no matter how pretty they look it's just "I don't like cleavage and long hair!!!" or "This character is black cuz feels!"
And as mentioned, it basically ignores characters that already fit the desired traits. Hell, three of my faves don't fit "typical" beauty standards (one of them is bald for starters), two are mixed race (and likely neither of those two races are Caucasian) and one of them is already rough, tough and boyish. So of course I never see any of them paraded around by SJWs (frankly, that's a good thing) but all of this does bring a bunch of points to the typical sjw redesign/headcanon choices:
- They're shallow. Many characters that fit the traits these people want so bad are often minor characters. Basically it implies these people don't care enough about a series to even look at minor characters... which is real fucking ironic for the self-appointed minority crusaders. "We're sick of society only noticing the majority!" *only looks at the franchise equivalent of a majority*
- Even then, it shows a lack of care towards even the characters they do fawn over. Even redesigns generally keep true to some essence of what they were before. Look at that Wonder Woman from before... what part of that even resembles the character anymore? Seriously, what about that is recognizable outside of the WW thing that's not even a sorta-breastplate anymore. Compare to another character who's been through many designs:
He changes a lot in outfit and even face but something worth noticing is they still retain various key features. He's a real big guy, prominent lower lip/jaw, very prominent nose, prominent eyebrows, penchant for headpiece jewelry. Point is, despite looking radically different in each pic, one can still look and say "Oh hey, that's Ganondorf!"
Yet many of these redesigns in the thread only serve to strip characters of just about any identifying marks and features all in the name of "muh justice/representation"
Kinda makes me wanna try doing redesigns of a few favourite characters in a way that doesn't totally bastardize them. Also sorry if all of that came off really spergy...

This reminds me of an image I saw in Tumblr a long time ago where an artist redesigns the Lord of the Rings characters that does exactly what you complained about; shallow redesigns for the sake of representation. Some characters are gender flipped, some are turned into blacks. I can't find the picture anymore and I can't stand slogging through the LOTR Tumblr just to find that one pic. I do remember Arwen and Saruman being turned into female, though.

All that "controversy" was just a gaggle of nuts. I like reading Wikipedia articles on stuff like this, like this Critical response section, because people pushing a particular viewpoint are usually forced to get out their best cites.
After the 86th Academy Awards ceremony, the casting of a non-transgender actor was critiqued as a missed opportunity, with some LGBT activists criticizing the choice as misogynistic. A guest blogger published on the L.A. Times website compared the issue to white actors appropriating, and exploiting, the roles of East Asians and Africans in the past; and guest contributors noted in The Guardian and The Independent that transgender actors are often relegated to roles such as prostitutes, corpses and "freaks."
And a news story about how Jared Leto got heckled by a nut. Stay classy, guys.
Otherwise, though, the movie got basically universal acclaim.
People who watch this SJW shit tend to exaggerate the actual influence of these clowns. Most people just ignore them, and even when they "successfully" push some pretty silly viewpoint, it's through strategically placed but pretty unimportant outlets. This isn't media hegemony.
Not bashing the general idea that it often makes casting sense to cast someone who is a member of a certain group when you're portraying a character of that group, but the idea it's necessary is ridiculous. Hey, how about casting an MtF as a woman, instead of as a tranny? Wouldn't that be nice?

Here's something from the body-positive side of the SJW art pit:
And apparently also that all mermaids have flippers for hands and football-shaped heads.
Also, not only is that clearly not the body type of someone who is constantly physically active, but others have pointed out that human fat actually does jack shit for insulation in the water. If you want to make your own inspirational fat character, the least you can do is make them vaguely plausible.

They were probably thinking of seals, but seals live in cold climates where all that blubber is necessary to keep warm. Mermaids are usually depicted in tropical regions, where all that fat wouldn't be needed.
It's like they started to think this out but just stopped because REPRESENTATION!!!!!11

well they could be the marine mammals most closely related to tumblrinas: manatees
http://sneed.ngm.com/2013/04/manatees/img/florida-manatee-kings-bay-615.jpg
The origin of the mermaid myth is hypothesized to be a combination of wanting to see women and seeing manatees
the reality is that humans are actually equally related to all marine mammals except for manatees but tumblrinas most superficially resemble manatees
