The good folks at Bikki Armor Battle Damage are on a roll today.

-While this character gets more clothes when she levels up, it doesn't matter to them since she's showing cleavage and sexualized.
-Sure most of the ladies in the Mass Effect series are mostly fully clothed, that's not good enough. There's cleavage, not every outfit is gendernuetral, Miranda had a male creator which is icky since he made her "perfect" and beautiful; everything about Jack's design and Ashley was made prettier in the later games. Whew! I haven't played the Mass Effect series, but I see Jack's design as a reflection of her anger, rebelliousness and outsider personality. Her make-up and bald head help make her stand out.
-While Mortal Kombat is on their shitlist for quite a while, now Sindell is being targeted. I'm surprised they haven't gone after Ferra/Torg yet (especially her ending).
-If you defend skimpy and "bad" armor, you're an asshole.
Goddamn, and I thought Escher Girls was whiny.
In regards to Mortal Kombat, I like how women showing skin is more objectionable than the violence.

Actually, they do have their explanations in their special bingo card if you scroll down.
I've grown to hate those snarky XD bingo cards. They're one sided and bitchy.

From what I've seen of SJW art, a lot of them seem to have the same art style. Hard to describe, but it's like this weird mishmash of kawaii and chibi? Also, each piece always seems to be adorned with flower crowns, pastel colors, and a flowy banner at the bottom saying something very sjw-ish like "Respect boys that menstruate". Anyone else notice this pattern?

I noticed this too; there are at least 4 tumblr artstyles:
1. Comic book like.
2. Adventure Time/Steven Universe/anything noodly and pastel. Topics are mostly fluff and feminist.
3. DiversityFeaturing mostly Black people, one or two Latino/Asians, a Muslim/Arab girl in a hajib and one white person.
4. Subversive Kawaii ( see Cuteosphere)

I notice a pattern too, especially with the anime fanart. I don't know what is is but I feel that they are going out of their way to avoid drawing in the "typical" anime style. Not that it in itself is a bad thing but when tumblrinas do it, it feels....forced.

I always thought that they were just terrible at drawing

I think it feels forced because each sjw that has that sjw flair in their art thinks it's their unique style and they came up with it themselves... Totally not related to watching too much Steven Universe or being a weeb that wants to be *~kawaii desuuu~*. I also think some of it is an attempt at trying to fit in with the other sjws who like that juxtaposition of cute and edgy.

I know what you mean. MK's female are very accomplished, strong and competent, yet all they see is their outfits. (Even Cassie and Jackie are questionable for boobsocks and boobplate.)

I kinda have to roll my eyes at this:
  • “This outfit is normal for her culture/climate!”
At very best, this adds a whole extra problem to the design.
Talking about made-up culture that this made-up character is from? It’s not like the creators just… created this fictional culture and located it in a hot climate to suit their (and/or their audiences) preferences to excuse a silly outfit, riiight?
Also, when she’s not in her homeland’s climate, why wouldn’t she dress more appropriately for the weather?
Reason why a game would make mention of a made-up culture a fictional character hails from is to 1) add some variety to the races/ethnicities within a game. It also adds a bit into the lore of the world a game takes place in just to give one the idea you don't have one kingdom of people that counts as the entire human race. 2) While a character wouldn't be in their homeland, they would still wear something part of their homeland if it is written within the character. Something such as homesickness or standing out among foreigners and others, especially if said character wanted to make themselves known as "the person in a loincloth swinging a giant sword no one in real life would wield".

This also makes me want to tackle another part of their arguments:
For one, you'd have a female barbarian wear a bra if simply so censors don't get overly judgmental and slap a game with an AO rating because they saw breast. Even then, if there were pauldrons, then the bra could serve as a sort of harness, that is if one really didn't want to make it look like the shoulder protection was just slapped on with no support in holding it. As for Red Sonja, I think scales would have a sort of backing such as canvas or leather.

I'm just gonna wrap up these last ones:
  • “She CHOSE to dress like that!”
No she did not. Let me quote rheiders:
A strong female character is still a character—she has no agency, she has no choice. Everything about her appearance and actions is dictated by her creator. It is only through good storytelling and character writing that we begin to believe the character is alive and possessing of free will, but that’s just an illusion. SHE IS STILL JUST A CHARACTER, created by someone else. And unless the character is supposed to be a suicidal warrior seeking a glorious death, she wouldn’t choose to dress like that for combat - and if she was a suicidal warrior seeking a glorious death she wouldn’t be worrying about her sex appeal because she’d be expecting it to get messy.

In regards to men as sexualized, while that may not be as numerous as females, I remember at least seeing a Skyrim and an Oblivion mod that gives the male equivalent of sexy armor. Not only that, some works like this has men in impractical armor (Alexander the great has his legs and lower torso exposed and no helmet. The Phalanx army he has on the other hand look well covered).

Not every female in skimpy armor wears chainmail or plate. Even then, while their armor may still come off a sexy, if one were to bring in boobplate kills, one can say the leather armor in our fantasy games would be weak as hell unless it was freaking cuir boulli. And if they say add plate or chain, that means the character has to sacrifice agility because the metal armor would weigh them down. Even then, a world with magic can make things less realistic and these are games where we have people in armor fighting flying lizards.

While we make a character and they didn't necessarily chose the way they dress, it doesn't excuse the fact that when we write our characters, we write of their stories and motivations, what makes one guy be a spear thrusting soldier in a gambeson. Even then, if the work is in a fictional world, whose to say the characters aren't like a human of our world? Even then, whose to say the character is some suicidal warrior. My female character can't be some female version of a landschneckt whose style of dress while making some people groan or snicker and think she is an easy kill because "physics and boobplate" can't be someone that would share some traits like a landschneckt even though her outfit is part of what her character could be (wanting to stick out in the battlefield so people know who she is, armor and clothes are taking from dead or pillaged which explains foppish appearance)? Even then, whose to say a poorly dressed character isn't just some berserker or a person that doesn't need to really wear plate?

So this artist on Tumblr decided to redesign the Danny Phantom characters. By redesign I mean she just gave all them Tumblr noses.

I do like the shading though, even if it's a tad excessive. Also, is Tumblr ears a thing? This isn't the first time I've seen someone on Tumblr color the ears like that.

The same person made a Danny phantom gemsona thing/abomonation.

While I kind of like the poses the Gaang is doing, I can't stand the Tumblr noses. They even gave Suki a Tumblr nose and she is wearing a full face of makeup!

P.S I been away from this thread for a little bit and can't remember if any of these pictures have been posted yet. If they have please let me know :)

That Katara redesign makes her look like a modern-day hipster mom. Yes, I know that she was always the motherly character of the Gaang, but I don't remember her specificially dressing like one. However, since the characters appear to be older, it may be passable, but it still feels off.

I also don't know why Toph had to get arm and leg sleeves, as I don't remember her caring about fashion that much.

I think what really gets me is that they covered up part of Toph's feet. She "sees" through her feet, being an Earthbender and all, so covering them up like that is essentially rendering her half-blind (so to speak). Toph's redesign would and could work on another character but I really don't think it does for her.

Also she looks more like Mai with that kind of hair.

Worldbuilding exists only so the creators can show titties.

Yeah, a bunch of the characters are Rule 63 versions of famous historical figures (Francis Drake, Nero, Jack the Ripper...). The SJWs probably object because it's for sex appeal instead of "feminism." As if Takeuchi doesn't pander to the fangirls, too.
To be fair we don't know who Jack the Ripper was. Could have been a woman for all we know.
