The funniest thing to me is how we never see these redesigns for male characters. A dude only wearing a speedo and greased up? No problem here! But a woman wearing a skirt that doesn't go below the knees...
Yeah, that design bothered me the most as well. If she looked liked that, I doubt many people would play with her.
And thanks! That's the closest I could make it to the real thing. There were not many long-hair options.
I looked through Tumblr to see if I can find a male character redesign but couldn't find any or it was their own OCs and I don't wanna touch those. So yeah, they care more about the female character redesigns than the male ones.

I think we've all been through something like that because I have too. I had such a spergy attitude as a teen but the bullies kept me from retaining it as an adult (because teenagers are naive little gits), if you didn't go through that or didn't change, you can have a thread that gets out of proving grounds or it's already made.

Redesign blogs on Tumblr really know how to downgrade a characters design and make it less memorable. For instance while Ivy's design isn't what you'd call the most useful/practical, I'll certainly remember it and she'll come to mind when I think of popular villains. I'm not gonna remember the basic looking bitch in a lab coat and Minecraft shaped body.
Same just about goes for the other characters. Sure their outfits might not make sense, they still stand out.
Besides this, I also have to say that Tumblr people must be so shallow to judge a female character based on her looks. I thought we were past that.

To add to this, a major problem I see with a lot of Tumblr redesigns is that they lack an understanding of visual themes and motifs.
To use the same example, Poison Ivy’s outfit might not be something anyone on real life would wear outside of costume parties, but in the world of fiction it makes sense since it invokes the imagery of woodland fae/nymphs from theater, old paintings, and mythology. You know, beings that are associated with having a mystical attachment to nature with no regard for humanity or civilization. The redesign invokes none of that and the more stereotypical “science” take away from her more botanical accessories by muddling them up with symbols of modernity like the lab coat. It also kinda brings up some other somewhat sexist implications that smart STEM women should be dumpy and have no interests outside of vaguely “science-y” hobbies.
Also SJWs really gotta stop getting ass-mad of High School of the Dead. It might be ridiculous, but everyone - including the people who worked on it - is well aware that it’s ridiculous. It’s like getting mad about the ridiculousness of Shaun of the Dead or Lolipop Chainsaw.

They will never stop getting mad like how they got mad at Suda 51 for including gigoló mode in Killer is Dead where you have to seduce a series of women in order to get upgrades for your character.
Even if the setting is already per se ridiculous, they will throw a temper tantrum about it just because someone dared to make something they do not approve of. It's like getting mad at Red Sonja while not minding that Conan is also a half naked barbarian in a violent fantasy world.
