My thing about the whole she-ra debate (that's all over Twitter, it's ridiculous) is that it just looks kinda bland. It's not blobby cal arts, but everything looks really flat, like the characters were cut and pasted on a background with no thought given to shading, line weight, whatever. It just looks boring.

I've never liked SU, but at least it gave some attention was given toward lighting/shading/ incorporating characters into the environment.

The lines don't look clean at all and while I prefer this style over calart blobs, it looks like Steven Universe The Anime, from the color palette to the blobby shapeless hair. I'm not acquainted with She-Ra but this looks like the remake is a magical girl hybrid.

The style looks pretty similar to Voltron, which looks good animated but bad in stills because it's got simple, single line thickness linework and large blocks of color with simple shading. The animation quality is fine and it's pretty good to watch once you get over the anime faces, but kids like that crap so whatever. It's probably drawn that way to save money since they've churned out seven seasons of the Voltron remake already.

I'm not invested in she-ra's tits or the colors and shapes of the various other characters, i don't think I saw much of the show in the 80s anyway

This person draws like Assigned Male, eugh. How much of a tard do you have to be to think this can even remotely compare to Horikoshi's art? Also, for the millionth time, JAPANESE PEOPLE AREN'T THIS DARK (unless they're wearing Ganguro makeup, which Tumblrinas think is racist anyway).

The mini cape is fucking stupid, the sneakers are too casual, and the pony-tail with dyke hair makes her look like Sokka. Plenty of teenage girls in real life dress scanty, this isn't Victorian England.

The whole point of her shoes is that theres a spring in the heel, dumbass.

Why did you delete her breasts, especially when all you Tumblrinas claim they're not sexual? What are you, 4Kids? Also, have you not watched the show? She already has eye protection! She wears a full fucking helmet!

Her legs were already covered, you autist. The suit being tight doesn't automatically make it less protective. Spider-man wears a tight suit, but none of you guys are bitching about that.

Also, stop channeling Rob Liefeld. Not everybody needs a god damn pouch-belt.

The concept of giving Tooru reappearing clothes isn't terrible, but this outfit looks like the carpet at a bowling alley. Amazing, you were given complete creative liberty with what this could look like and you still made a hideous design with Liefeld pouches. Nice going.

His mask is supposed to look like a Japanese troll, you uncultured buffoon. The whole outfit is based off of an Oni! The "skirt" is supposed to look like an Oni's loincloth, and his hair is supposed to look like horns. How did you manage to overlook the enture basis of Eijiro's design?

Just like with Uraraka, the shoes have springs in the heels to help Tsuyu jump. What the hell was wrong with the goggles she already had? Y'know, the super cool ones that look like frog eyes when they're on top of her head?

Of course you can be trans if you want to, that's the exact point, that is the very crux of the issue, there is no law "out there" or any authority that *decides* if one person is trans or not, people just want to be this or that, some people don't even recognize transpeople because they choose not to, so no amount of dysphoria would even matter to them, some people choose to recognize themselves as some gender, others choose to respect it to some degree, its just dumb sound-based human packages of social categorization. That is literally it. I can choose to call/view all men as women right now, and they are. Notice how absolutely fucking nothing changed but how i choose to conduct myself in the world.

Even without the Brown/Blackwashing, as someone who doesn't even read or watch BNHA I can say that these redesign outfits are fucking boring. It's as though she's too scared to accentuate things like curves, even when that's part of what makes their suit designs so interesting. Plus these all look like watered-down mcu costumes with their "muh practicality". Well, I will say what I have already said, to support your point: in a world of superheroes you must have an effective and aesthetic costume to sell an ideal to the people you protect. You do not become the symbol of peace and hope dressed as a garbage bag.
