Once again, Tumblr contradicts itself with these weird labels.

I would comment saying "isn't that called being a lesbian?" but I digress.

So the concept is that, because they believe pronouns =/= gender, that anyone of any gender identity can use any pronouns. Their arguments for this are: gender is a social construct, pronouns aren't gendered, and there's historical precedence for it.

Well, those first two are bullshit and could be argued all day at night with tumblr users, but that's not the main reason why people started this - because they believe their's historical precedence for it.
In a way, they're not wrong about that: yes, historically, there is precedence for lesbians, particularly butch lesbians, using he/him pronouns, and gay men, particularly feminine gay men, using she/her pronouns. However, they ignore why this was a thing and why it is no longer a thing.
As someone else already mentioned, one reason why there were "she/her gay men" and "he/him lesbians" is because transgender people were unknown and the public didn't understand them - so heterosexual transgender men were "he/him lesbians" and heterosexual transgender women were "she/her gay men". Which is, ironically, based on historical ignorance towards transgender people and "transphobic". So tumblr played themselves, there.
Another reason is the existence of drag queens/drag kings. Of course, tumblr thinks drag is transphobic, so they ignore that drag performers only use the opposite sex pronouns while in their drag persona.
The last major reason is because of like, actual homophobia, where lesbians were referred to with male pronouns and especially gay men were referred to with female pronouns in a mocking, discriminatory way. So sometimes they embraced it.

Sorry, this was an autistic spiel, and probably sounded painfully sjw. But to try to grasp this shit you kinda have to see where they're coming from - even if their logic is shit. It makes it easier to make fun of for myself personally, because you can turn it on them very easily, like, "oh so you're a transphobe then," and watch them squirm.

TL;DR: tumblr thinks girls can use male pronouns and boys can use female pronouns because they think it's a historical thing, ignoring how it's based on historical bigotry.

If I have to be quite honest, some of the color palettes for these flags are actually quite appealing.
My own personal favorite has to be either the water lesbian flag or mermaid lesbian. But overall I agree with you on how stupid and pointless these are.
 
i was wondering why we hardly ever see a 'she/her' gay man, im thinking its cause "gay" isnt as unqiue of a label as 'lesbian', for some reason people justreally wanna call themselves "lesbian". really wanna be "lesbian" even without being a lesbian

with the rare few gay she/her guys its usually the other way around- a man adopting femininity and feminine pronouns
 
Why make so many flags? I mean the lesbian community in Tumblr can be defined in a nutshell as three of those:

-Autistic Lesbian
-Candy Lesbian (fat)
-Dumbass Lesbian.

I know it's probably a joke, but with Tumblr you can never be sure.:roll:

For Tumblr complaining about guys finding lesbians hot they sure do love to fetishsize them to the enth degree.

It's really damn disturbing to me.

Woman in cartoons or movies can't just exist as people to these fetishists. They have to be a lesbian because if they aren't your headcanon is ruined and that is somehow homophobic. So instead of actually supporting characters that are already lesbians (mostly because they aren't shipping fuel bullshit), you go and turn whatever you can find into shipping bait. It's honestly so gross.

With magical girl series, you get it all the damn time. Despite the fact that the girls are clearly as straight as an arrow, they are deemed lesbians for no other reason such as their clothes, which is creepy and predatory as hell.

That infamous Sailor Moon post had that, and somehow in series like Pretty Cure, with at least one season having an exception, all the females, despite having male love interests of boyfriends, are still considered lesbians by some logic. This is even despite the fact that in the original Sailor Moon, Usagi actually turned down a girl rather nicely and has most of her interest in Tuxedo Mask.

But somehow it's always lesbians.

Cause it's less about appreciating black characters and more of getting a rise out of whitey. They pull the "excuse" of minority characters not being as popular as white ones, but that doesn't fly in this day and age when you have people like Samuel L Jackson as a celebrity and Black Panther making millions at the box office.

I also think it's half guilt by these people since most of their favorite characters are probably white, and they must feel super ultra guilty and racist for it, so they think they can solve their issues by making their faves black in art and such.

I wonder if this is also why there is this whole story about trans/lesbian on Tumblr. Cis/Hetero favorite characters "transexualised/lesbianised" because of the guilty feels. It makes sense a bit.

Also, turning off anon is a common tactic these tumblrinas use to call out the original artists complaining and to sic their followers on them.
