actually it's Ninjago, but I thought they were Scott Pilgrim and Knives Chau at first. The one that looks like Knives is supposed to be Nya, and the boy is supposed to be Jay when he's a game show host; why they made his gaudy, flashy suit muted and boring is beyond me

This is the reason why people don't like others like you. You just said you wouldn't judge others and immediately proceed to lecture others on how they are prejudice due to how many OCs they have. This is why people don't want to give you anything. Because you proceed to call them racist even when they do stuff for you.

I understand growing thicker skin and I understand that some of the sentiments said on the other side can be immature, but don't fucking pretend there aren't people who wouldn't do that kind of shit. There are so many people who do critcize others for not appealing to their standards and that person just did that in the original post. There are plenty of people on Tumblr who are willing to get off the high of defaming someone. It's been proven more several times now that appealing to these people only serves to make things worse for yourself.

So why bother? Simply put, people will not. They will not tolerate their artwork being re-edited for some agenda and this is what happened here. To act like people are so nice about this issue is delusional.
 
I saw that on my dash yesterday actually. The person who did the editing is incredibly obnoxious and ignorant. If you don't color drop skin tones you're a Mega Racist apparently.

S..She went from defending the actual artist to basically agreeing with the "redesigner" and insulting the actual artist's coloring choices...

Also, looking at the Tumblr notes and Twitter, not one user said anything negative about drawing blacks....Where in the world did Talia find this "evidence"?
 
As a poc and what y'all would probably call an SJW liberal feminazi, can I just point out that most of these artists are WHITE? Not poc who want representation, but white people looking for ~woke~ points?

It's gotten popular in certain anime fandom to draw/color the characters as dark brown, even though they're........not. With the logic that "it's ok, their race isn't really part of the plot" not realizing how racist it is to say just cause a character isnt a walking sterotype, they're not Asian enough??

That logic only works with ambiguous characters from books ex. Hermione or characters with pink skin but you can't apply it to characters who have a canon appearance. Just let them be themselves it's not that hard

This is in response to a tweet by a Latino person who lives in South America saying they're nervous to post art of dark skinned characters because of stuff like that Splatoon drawing. Somehow claiming Marina was whitewashed is "within reason" for this person

Everything about these drawings have something off with them. The colors for the clothes are bad and are wayyyy too saturated, the skin tones are horribly muted and somehow despite having no shading the nose look like turds. Also, everyone's eyes are cross-eyed. No one looks straight ahead? Is drawing a human face forward that hard? Even the most amateur of artists know how to draw something facing forward.

The main issue is to stop drawing that way obviously and try something else, but the artist really needs to have a better lineart contrast and color picking. I can barely see the edges of the characters.
 
I can’t decide which is worse: yellowish-brown diarrhea-looking skintones or those dead-looking undersaturated ones. I guess that’s what happens when you never leave your house and actually see a POC. Reminds me of this medieval art of lions
