I gotta admit it is cute, but this was probably something for pride month (note the trans shirt on Natsuki)
It tries to come off as progressive while just looking straight from a hentai doujinshi.
 
virgin tumblr artist: tries to gain popularity by drawing all characters as minorities, has to pretend to find it attractive themselves to come off as more virtuous
chad hentai artist: just straight up draws their kinks and masterfully disguises them as minority aspects, doesnt care if SJWs love him because the horny ppl will anyway

Honestly, this isn't particularly bad, but it amazes me that, for all the effort put into the coloring, this artist makes almost no attempt to make the character recognizable. Gem traps' only distinguiscing features are their hair and eyes and this picture messes up half of it. I always wonder if Tumblr fanart changes a lot of elements intentionally or if these people are just bad at noticing details.

I don't think so, traps lovers often use the trans flag to indicate someone is a trap, if it was a pride month they probably add a rainbow flag at least on one of the character (or a big flag covering the characters, idk), but the only one to be on the lgbt is a headcanon trap fetish.

It's pretty obvious when a fanartist is intentionally making the skin lighter vs them just being in bright light, but they couldn't virtue signal if they actually realized that

If artists are going to get called racist for shading correctly we should just not have any dark skinned characters since all anyone ever does is complain

I think it goes to show that these people have their heads so far up their ass. If you have no knowledge or experience with art, you are the LAST person to be talking about jack shit. It's only common decency and prevents you from looking like an idiot.

To think that a 13 year-old, immature hobby artist knows more than professional who spent more than several years designing characters is astounding to me. How big is you're ego then? How much worse could it get?

At this point, giving characters darker skin isn't to add more diversity, it's to get off the high of being right. It's the same as a conspiracy "theorist" who believes that the government are secretly aliens or something. They could give a fuck less if it's the truth, but the high of knowing they have knowledge of something the average person doesn't is what they get off on.

True, but it still weirds me out a little bit. Even the 13 year olds I knew when I was that age didn't act that pretentious. Yeah 13 year olds are dumb and pretentious, but the extent we're seeing here is pretty exceptional.

Wow. Okay, I usually give the benefit of the doubt that some of these people are young, but when you're almost 20 and complaining about this shit I have to draw the line.

If you can't take shit don't say anything when you're called out, you look like an ass. The fact they deleted it even shows how they know they fucked up.
