Maybe it’s a bit :late: to bring this back, but I wanted to draw attention to something.
I actually regularly keep up with this artist, as dumb as that sounds. Objectively, their art isn’t very noteworthy, but something keeps drawing me back to them.
I started reading their webcomic and, like the rest of their art, it’s nothing too special. It’s just a little slice of life story about a bunch of 20-somethings going to art school.
However, ALL the characters are fucking gay/trans. Even randos like a manager and a dance teacher. The story even has two non-binary characters (one of which wears a hijab).
Now, I wouldn’t have brought this up (like I said, the comic isn’t anything special) if it wasn’t for something I saw on their blog. They made a post asking who everyone’s favorite character from their webcomic is and they said that every non-binary person liked the character Lily, who they discribed as a “masc-nb hero”

It looks like they're trying to ape the Scott Pilgrim -style format what with the status sheet character exposition, but between the awkward formatting and the poor font/color choices they don't actually understand how that technique works so it's just a bunch of jumbled and superfluous info.

It's because it's full of hot dudes. Phoenix is hot, Edgeworth is hot, the judge is super hot , etc.
It's as simple as that, really.
That's the only reason McHanzo exists, after all. The two don't have any interaction in and outside of the game, the only reason their ship is so big and cancerous is because they are the two most attractive guys in the game.
These Tumblr girls are completely and utterly shallow if you haven't guessed that already. Almost reminds me of the shallow valley girl stereotype except "nerdy" instead of preppy.

:powerlevel: Actually, McCree and Hanzo do have a couple interactions, one of which consists of McCree stating "You're pretty handy with that bow." Also not helped by the fact that Matthew Mercer, McCree's VA, has admitted he finds the ship cute and Hanzo's VA is gay. Them being two of the more attractive male characters is only the tip of the iceberg.

You're right though, fangirls don't care about ships making sense, especially if the characters are hot.

The reason why McCree is usually turned into these abominations is because he's one of the more manly characters of the game, which is a huge no-no for Tumblr. They hate "CIS white males" so much that they'll twist characters into their "ideal" version.

I actually find this kinda cute. The characters are recognizable, even if the style is kinda generic. Galko even was allowed to keep her hourglass-figure!

ive noticed that w characters that look conventionally attractive in canon, they try and make em as ugly as possible
but w characters that are MEANT to be unattractive, like rick sanchez for example: a drunk, balding old man. or a character w a very simplistic design like a south park character- they try n make em super hot daddy material
