I guessed Sakura from Naruto, the A.I. girl from Code Lokyo...even some mess Luka with no tits, and short hair, before guessing a Love Live! character. I never watched LL, and even I could depict that Kotori girl more realistically.

Love Live is plagued with SJW fanarts (I've stopped counting the obese Nozomis and black Nicos), because it's an anime/idol game filled with pretty, cute teens and has *gasp*problematic content (one of the characters likes to grope the other girls' breasts, fanservice-y outfits,...) so the SJW feel guilty for enjoying it, and their answer isn't to be mature and say "well, I dislike that aspect of the source material but still enjoy it overall" but to redesign the characters to the point you can't recognize them and screech that it's better than canon.
Even as a LL! fan, I would have never guessed Kotori here lmao

Its cuz unlike most manga, Hunter X Hunter doesn't really have a female love interest for the main characters. Unless you count one or two of the older female characters, there really hasnt been a girl who Gon is attracted.

So people just go nuts with pairing the two boys together. It doesn't help that the boys have sucha strong bromance which makes yaoi fans crazy.
