That's instantly where my brain went, too. Even ignoring the tranny, everything about the comic is tumblr personified from the hideous art, "fashion", and story. They even had the tearful confession and acceptance bit. Because when you think of acceptance, the Misfits fit the bill, right?

It gets on my nerves how the Misfits got all the woke redesigns in the comic (fat stormer, black jetta, trans blaze) when the Holograms were literally so diverse in the original show they had more non-white members than white ones! It's like, "oh these bad guys are bad but don't worry, they're not THAT bad." They're assholes who hate charity and have literally kidnapped children because it was convenient for them! Figured I'd revisit this because the original post was about that Russian artist getting jumped for not drawing Viktor's brace properly. You will find two camps:
1. Those who take disability erasure VERY seriously
2. Those who don't give a shit and get away with it because they are good/competent NSFW artist (YMMV on what 'competent' means). Examples given in this thread are Ms_Huephoria, GigiValentine and KrisKrisDraws, who only include said mobility aids as an afterthought. They do not get callout threads made on them because of Pretty Artist Privilege. It may not seem like a big deal to us, but for that circle, it means a lot.
One artist even made a thread on the possible conditions he might have and what aids to draw. It is an informative thread, useful if you do want to make things more realistic, but one can't help but notice where the anger is going.
Post-polio syndrome would only be applicable for AUs, as polio has largely been eradicated in the West. I have read (from a tumblr user who sadly deactivated) that he might have femoral anteversion and it's likely due to poor genetics and lack of sunlight from the sheer environmental pollution where he lives.

It looks like they were taking TOO much inspiration from Ricky Berwick with the way his legs are bending backwards. I do not know if that was a stylistic choice or that was how they interpreted his disability, but that is one POS art.
To add, on top of the disability rep they take very seriously, they take whitewashing very seriously - sometimes. If you are drawing porn and you make a Latino look purple in the dark, you are OK if you are well-liked. Take this artist, for example:

I'll take responsibility for it as I am in the fandom and it is something I unfortunately come across too often. Unfortunately, it seems the batch that moved on (they are fandom locusts, after all) have decided to troon out Flambae from Dispatch. Now, he is the complete opposite: a 6'5 Afghan (you wouldn't know unless you read his wiki; you'd assume he was Greek) who is gay. I already saw pics of him slapped with zippertits and a vagina.
A while ago, there was big drama over Twitter using AI to 'fix' art or train it based on the art artists posted. This caused a pseudo 'exodus' to BlueSky. Turns out, it was all overblown - and was based on a Grok AI prompt itself. Those in the EU can opt out completely. Besides, BlueSky has enforced its NSFW policy and they barely get any attention there unless they are already an established artist on Twitter.
Everybody threatening to go to BlueSky eventually comes back to Twitter, AI or not. They're worried about AI 'fixing' their art when they should be worried more about their poor style.
