Weird phenomenon in recent years where "I like this character" or "this character is a lot like me/I identify with them" its not good enough,
"this character is ME. They are ME and I am THEM. Everything about them is ME, They orientation, pronouns, gender, body type, likes/dislikes, political views, EVERYTHING IS THE SAME AS ME. I don't care if the canon says otherwise, you are bigot if you dont agree with MEEEEEEEEEEE"

Only tangentially related; am I the only DC fan kind of annoyed how Harley's color scheme has evolved from black and red to pink and blue? Most Harleys are still black and red, but it feels like there's been a steady evolution where the more people like her as an antihero, the less edgy her palette becomes:

Suicide squad made irreparable damage to how harley has to be redesign.
The only time in recent memory where she looked like a Jester was in Batman caped crusader.

What I find funny is this Harley is half Asian and her highlight color in her costume is yellow.

Valid criticisms of Caped Crusader notwithstanding, I think that's probably the best redesign of Harley Quinn, both visually and as a character. Instead of a therapist who fell in love with a patient and was driven to madness, she was a therapist who was disgusted with her wealthy clientele and went insane all on her own, torturing them with ironic punishments based on how they tortured others, stealing their money and donating it against their wishes. She's still insane, she's still a jester, and she's still a therapist. She even has a double life like a typical villain, making her insanity a little more scary since she can seem normal (even if it's just to find more victims.) AND the fact that she taunts the rich and untouchable is perfect jester imagery, because that's literally the job/privilege of the jester; to prod the king and say things nobody else could get away with. It's like instead of a clown-obsessed fangirl, she's a proper jester-themed villain. The redesigns in this thread could never.

There would be no problem with the pink and blue if that combo wasn't stolen by some of the most insane degenerate perverts on the planet. Trannies. Ruin. Everything.
 
New DC comic has a TIM character who is the "granddaughter" of Ra'as al Ghul and its about as cringe as you expect it to be.

This is a big case of fanart and headcanons gaslighting people into believe the character is darker than they actually are.
and this is an artistic choice, the guy did the same for Peach and Rosalina.
