Ice cream brand notorious for their performative slacktivism, Ben & Jerry's, recently held a contest for white liberal women that still use Tumblr to design a cover design for their new gross-sounding watermelon ice cream that I'm sure will never actually be given to anyone in Gaza. This is a rather masochistic stance as both Ben and Jerry are gay lovers and Jewish, but I digress. The winner ended up being this AI-generated design, made by a moon-faced Muslim immigrant residing in Australia, who definitely does not need a free lifetime supply of ice cream.


This sparked controversy among the art community as AI generated artwork is a big no-no. This video has neutral-ish commentary and shows the fallout:
